Tareq has a unique entrepreneurship story. He is someone who proves that with a little hard work, determination, and grit, anything is possible. But, like many individuals in the ecommerce space today, Tareq’s journey really started in 2020.
During this time, Tareq saw one of his good friends get laid off from their job. With the uncertainty surrounding the economy, Tareq realized that could soon be him, too. Tareq had dabbled in entrepreneurship before. But the uncertainty that 2020 brought created the push he needed to finally build something that was completely his own. So he started watching ecommerce videos on YouTube; this led him on the path to finding Ecommerce Empire Builders and becoming an academy student.
After Tareq became one of our students, I asked him to send me the funnels he was working with. When Tareq first sent me the funnel he has been using to generate over $10,000 in sales per month, to say I was quite surprised would be an understatement. To put it bluntly, Tareq’s funnel was quite basic. It lacked a well-thought-out design.
In this respect, Tareq’s success with his basic ecommerce pages proves that you don’t have to overthink or worry about design when building your funnels. With his background in entrepreneurship, Tareq has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the dos and don’ts associated with creating a successful ecommerce operation. Tareq grew his ecommerce business quite quickly over the past year with his basic ecommerce pages. He drew in over 150 continuity members or customers paying for monthly subscriptions. However, success did not come overnight. Tareq went through quite a few niches after joining the Ecommerce Empire Builders Academy before finding the right one to grow his business.
When I asked Tareq what advice he would share with someone just starting out in the ecommerce space or someone struggling to make money online, he told me that knowing your strengths and weaknesses is the most important element to achieving success. When Tareq first started his entrepreneurship journey, even before ecommerce, he started an agency where he would work with clients one-on-one. However, he soon found this wasn’t the best environment for him. But was good with sales and working with customers.
In addition, Tareq hit on how important it is to not only know your strengths and weaknesses but also to choose a niche that you enjoy. Overall. Tareq’s biggest tip for other Ecommerce Empire Builders is this:
Pick a niche that you love and be willing to show up for your business every day.
Tareq also relayed the message that it’s important to understand that there will be ups and downs throughout this journey before you reach your goals. I couldn’t agree more. There will always be ups and downs in entrepreneurship, no matter if you’re making $10,000 a month or seven figures a year.
The Importance of Building a Team to Achieve Ecommerce Success
Along with Tareq’s tips outlined above, another key element in his ability to become a 10k Club Member was his willingness to build a team. Tareq found that investing in team members was the only way to take his ecommerce business to the next level. It’s simply impossible for one person to do everything needed to make an ecommerce business successful in a single day. Once you’ve been in the ecommerce space for a while, you will soon learn the importance of building a strong team around yourself.
To reach the 10k Club, Tareq hired a variety of virtual assistants to help him complete all the daily tasks that would grow his business. For example, one of his team members is solely responsible for creating email content and handling the store’s email marketing. Another one of his team members is solely in charge of handling administrative tasks.
The key takeaway here is that if you’re looking to join the 10k Club, 50k Club, or even higher, you must be willing to build a strong team around yourself. You simply can’t achieve a high level of success if you try to do every business task by yourself.
