Affiliate Marketing With Clickbank for Beginners in 2021: Earn Your First $100

Empire builders, one of the great benefits of running an online business is that there are many ways to generate multiple income streams. Some of them are relatively passive. That means you can pretty much just “set it and forget it” while still dedicating most of your time to your main business. Affiliate marketing with Clickbank is one of the best examples of this type of online income.

I want to emphasize that it shouldn’t be your only project. But affiliate marketing is a fantastic opportunity for just about anyone. Whether you have an established ecommerce business or are just getting started, I’m going to teach you how to make affiliate marketing with Clickbank.com work for you.

Why Affiliate Marketing With Clickbank Is the Icing on the Cake

I have a long history with affiliate marketing because this was actually the strategy I used to earn my very first dollar online. This was 13 years ago when I was a freshman in college and just beginning to dip my toes in the world of making money on the internet. My experience with affiliate marketing really opened up my mind to how the whole process of making money online works. So much has changed since then, and many methods are simply outdated. But affiliate marketing with Clickbank is still an excellent source of extra income in 2021.

If you don’t know anything at all about affiliate marketing, you can think of it like this:

An ecommerce business is trying to promote its products. But instead of spending all its marketing dollars on Facebook ads or something similar, it pays someone like you to promote the products. Affiliate marketers use a designated link, and they get a cut every time someone uses that link to purchase the product. Since the companies only have to pay when you actually make a sale for them, affiliate marketing is potentially a more effective source of traffic for them. In other words, these companies WANT you to succeed.

Of course, the problem with affiliate marketing is that you’re not working toward building your own business or creating your own assets. You’re really helping someone ELSE build their business. I recommend you take control of your ecommerce business by selling your own physical products or digital products. Even better, sell a combination of both. Then you can layer on the extra income from affiliate marketing as the icing on the cake.

Choosing a Product to Promote With Affiliate Marketing

Screen grab of Peter Pru exploring different offers for affiliate marketing with Clickbank

If you already have an ecommerce business and a built-in audience online, affiliate marketing is designed to fit in perfectly with your current niche. There’s literally an endless amount of products out there that you can be promoting. There are affiliate marketing offers for every type of consumer and in almost any market. For example, if you’re already selling fitness equipment or fitness-related information, you can promote a complementary product that has to do with fitness. The key is to find a quality product that people will actually be interested in. You really don’t want to go out there and promote something random that you’re not familiar with. Definitely try the product and learn as much as you can about it before recommending it to your audience.

If you haven’t gotten your business off the ground yet or maybe don’t even have a niche, you can choose an affiliate marketing product by thinking about your own interests, passions, and hobbies. I always recommend you use that as the starting point. Are you into video games, cooking, computers, or travel? These kinds of topics are typically evergreen. That means there’s always plenty of digital and physical products being launched in these niches. Choosing a popular topic is what makes it a scalable business with plenty of opportunities for you.

Using Clickbank.com for Affiliate Marketing

The place I love to use for affiliate marketing is Clickbank.com, and you can set up your account completely free. I’ve used all the different platforms out there for affiliate marketing. Clickbank.com is the best one, especially if you are looking for recurring affiliate marketing offers. That means you sell a subscription product that will go on to pay you a cut every single month. That’s the kind of excellent passive income you really need, and Clickbank.com is great for tracking those kinds of offers.

I did a live demo showing you how to use Clickbank.com to find some great offers, but it’s very simple to use. Log in and head to the Marketplace tab to sort through all the different affiliate products that are currently available. There’s a ton of different categories, and you want to choose the ones that are most relevant for your niche.

How the Math Works on Clickbank

Sticking with the fitness space, maybe you decide you want to promote a weight loss supplement. Head to the weight loss supplements and compare all the different options. Clickbank.com provides crucial information to help you choose the right product, like the average percent conversion. They also provide a Gravity rating. This is calculated by Clickbank’s algorithm to show how well a product has been selling over the last 12 weeks. As an example, Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic is a superstar product with a high Gravity rating and a high average percent conversion. If you drive traffic to your affiliate link for this product, you would be earning an average of $132.51 for every sale. Those are the kinds of stats you want to see for a product you would potentially promote.

Again, you want a quality product that’s doing well and that will give you some nice commissions. In my case, I do also make an effort to find subscription services that will be paying me every month. That’s free money in the bank!

Affiliate Marketing With Clickbank Case Study: Custom Keto Diet

Screen grab of Peter Pru showing how to use Clickbank

As part of the live Clickbank.com demo, we took a deep dive into one product with great potential for affiliate marketing. Custom Keto Diet is one of the top sellers in the Keto diet niche, a category that’s definitely hot right now. This product is also a subscription service, which is excellent. You can see on their profile that Custom Keto Diet pays their affiliates $21.31 every month for each purchase made from your link.

Every business on Clickbank.com will have a variety of great resources to help you sell their product. The better you can do, the more sales you can generate for them. Custom Keto Diet is a great example of this because they truly offer everything you need to promote the product. If you decide to market Custom Keto Diet, the first step is to generate your own unique link and head over to their page for affiliates. This is where you can learn much more about the product and also get a wealth of content that will help you promote it. You can find a ton of slick, professional images of the product to use for social media, blog posts, and anything else. They also have testimonials of the product, videos, and even fully-written email templates you can blast out to your list.

So it really is that simple and easy with affiliate marketing. Whether you’re choosing Custom Keto Diet or a product in a completely different niche, Clickbank makes it easy; you’re not going to have to go create your own offer stack images or anything like that. You just go in and use their content in a way that makes sense for you.

Why Paid Ads and Affiliate Marketing Don’t Mix

Influencer doing affiliate marketing with Clickbank via videos

The affiliate marketing business model is obviously much easier when you already have an established business in a specific niche. You simply leverage your audience and existing infrastructure to make some extra money. If you’re a newbie to ecommerce, the big temptation with affiliate marketing is to try to use paid ads to drive traffic to your affiliate link. But I’m telling you right now — because I don’t want you to lose a bunch of money — that it’s really hard to make that kind of business work. Some people can manage it, but it’s rare.

The reality is that your profit margins from earning a commission are way too slim for using paid ads. The business you’re trying to promote is ALREADY running those ads on Google, Facebook, Youtube, and everywhere else. You’re basically going to end up competing against them for those clicks. That doesn’t make any sense, and it’s not profitable for you. The business you’re promoting will make the numbers work much better than you can with your 50% commission.

The Bootstrap Method of Affiliate Marketing With Clickbank

If you really want to make your first dollar on the internet through affiliate marketing With Clickbank, you need what I call the Bootstrap Method. You’re basically pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps with the compelling content you make to market the product. All you have to do is purchase the product and then use it. You can even potentially write to the business on Clickbank.com to ask if there’s a discount code for affiliates. Obviously, choose something you believe in and something that’s relevant to you. Then, make a video on Youtube reviewing the product. Be as thorough and interesting as you can. If possible, make it a journey. Cover multiple days of your progress using the product, how your thoughts evolve, etc. Post a link to your affiliate link in the description box!

Create the same content in the form of a blog, and again add your affiliate link. Now you’re in a position to begin ranking when people are searching for reviews of that product. This is something consumers do all the time, organically. Getting some commissions that way is the absolute best way for someone without a business to begin making money with affiliate marketing.

24 Winning Q4 Dropshipping Products That Are Great to Sell on Facebook

Selling winning niche products is the key to success as a dropshipper. Whether you’re new to dropshipping or a veteran looking for new ideas for products to sell, there are plenty of ideas out there. The following are 24 of the top Q4 dropshipping products we’ve found to be very profitable. They can enable you to earn up to $50k per month with them. They sell especially well on Facebook.

1. Sushi Making Kits

As people are still forced to spend a lot of time at home due to the pandemic, they’re looking for fun things to do with the family. One of the Q4 dropshipping products that can help with this is sushi making supplies. Sushi making kits are some of the more popular products out there that people are buying. They allow people to turn their home into a sushi restaurant by including everything that’s needed to make maki or sashimi.

Like with other kits, try to include lifestyle photos that highlight different scenarios in which customers might use the kit. For example, if you’re selling to families, show a photo of a family putting the kit together.

2. Silicone Pastry Mat

Silicone pastry mats are also great in this stay-at-home environment, as many people are looking for ways to make cooking easier. Like many of the Q4 dropshipping products on this list, silicone pastry mats are great to sell because they save time, save money, and have that “just gotta have it” appeal. It’s a great choice for a one-product store. But they also come with many opportunities to upsell with cooking accessories and other products that help customers get the most from their purchase.

3. Vacuum Sealer

While this product is a bit more on the expensive side, costing around $30 to $50, vacuum sealers are great because they save money and time by helping people preserve fruits, vegetables, and other items. It may not be ideal as a core front-end product to sell, but it may make a great upsell opportunity.

4. Cross-Stitch Kits

Similar to sushi kits, cross-stitching kits are great to sell while people are stuck at home. Many people are getting into various hobbies, including cross-stitching. These kits fall under the embroidery niche, which we’ve found to be one of the best since it ticks every box in our criteria for dropshipping products.

5. Easels

screenshot of finding suppliers for easels

Easels are another great product to consider. They are often inexpensive on many sites, but they can sell for a lot on Amazon, which means they provide good markup value. As many people continually get into art, you’re likely to find a good market for easels.

Easels aren’t limited to the art niche, either. For example, people could use easels to prop up whiteboards, which they might use for business.

6. Cat Candy Snacks

There are plenty of opportunities in the pet niche, especially when it comes to holiday and Q4 dropshipping products. Pet owners are willing to buy just about anything for their pets, be it a dog, a cat, or any other companion. People spend a lot of time with their pets, so they’re often going to spend a lot of money on them.

One of the best things about the pet space is that innovations are always taking place. One example of a fun new product that doesn’t necessarily save a lot of time or money is cat candy snacks, which is essentially a little catnip tree that keeps cats occupied while providing them a nutritious snack.

7. Electric Ball Cat Toy

This toy is a great example of a product worth upselling after pushing the cat candy snacks on the front end. It has tech appeal to it, and it’s relatively inexpensive. You can clamp it to a desk, table, or even a scratching post, and it’s very entertaining for cats, making it a likely popular upsell for a lot of pet owners.

8. IP Security Camera

New parents are always looking for products to keep their children safe, healthy, and happy. One of the more expensive products out there in this niche is a good baby-monitoring security camera.

As a side note here, always order electronic products for yourself first to perform a quality check before selling.

9. Mini LED Headlamp

There are many niches for mini LED headlamps. You can sell this product to just about anyone in need of a convenient LED light source, such as fishermen who fish at night, hikers and campers, homeowners who need a hands-free flashlight while working on the house, and many others.

With Q4 dropshipping products like these, try to keep in mind that it’s best to sell to a specific niche rather than selling it to just anyone.

10. Fishing Reels

Fishing reels are another great upsell opportunity for other fishing gear. Sell a fishing reel with lures, fishing hats, and other products that aren’t as expensive. It’s a great moneymaker, as fishing reels cost around $100 in some places.

11. Fingerprint Padlocks

This is a clear example of a “just gotta have it” product that a lot of people are likely to want. It can save money and time, giving people a convenient and secure method for locking their valuables. It makes for a great stocking stuffer, which is an important consideration for Q4 dropshipping products.

Also, it’s ideal for anybody interested in home security. It may not sell very well outside of Q4. But if you’re in this niche right now, then take the opportunity to add this product to your dropshipping queue or sell it to existing customers.

12. Folding Chair

Folding chairs are another product that people are more likely to buy on impulse. They can find a use for one for many occasions. There are also many niches you can sell it to. Everyone from soccer moms sitting at the sidelines of their kids’ games to campers in need of cheap and convenient seats to place around the campfire can use these chairs.

13. Hair Trimmers

Throughout the year, many people have been uncomfortable with going to salons and barbershops to get their hair cut. As such, hair trimmers and other grooming products are popular among people stuck at home who still want a haircut.

14. Mini Drones

A man wrapping holiday presents at home

Mini drones are also great stocking stuffers to consider for Q4. They are cheaper than many other larger drones that you’d find in stores. Also, many different people may want them, including parents looking for fun gifts for their kids. Just remember to try them out before you begin selling them.

15. Thumb Piano

The thumb piano is a product that’s ideal for a very specific niche. Even if you can’t find a use for it yourself, some people out there might use something like this on a daily basis in a particular sub-niche that’s worth targeting.

16. Makeup Brushes

Makeup brushes and other makeup items are also popular among many audiences. One of the nice things about makeup brushes and other similar beauty products is that they wear out over time, which means you have the opportunity to earn repeat business.

17. Nail Art Tool

Another product in the beauty niche worth selling is a nail art tool. Similar to the hair trimmers we mentioned, this product is great for people who want to do their nails at home while unable to visit a salon.

18. Rolling Ball Cat Toy

Unlike the other cat toys discussed, this one is free-standing and curiously over-engineered. Products like this tend to sell a lot among pet owners because they look cool, feature remote control operation, and are generally good at keeping pets occupied for long periods of time.

19 and 20. Pet Carrier Backpacks

Because of the versatility of this product, we’ve decided to use it for two slots. Pet carrier backpacks are similar to baby carriers, allowing pet owners to strap their pets to their chest with a harness. This product is available for both dogs and cats, which means it’s great for two different niches: small dogs and cats. If you’re looking for a great gag gift to sell, this is it.

21. Pet Bandana or Scarf

Another fun product to get in the pet niche is a pet bandana or scarf for dogs, which comes with many variations. While you may think that these variations are a bit daunting to sell, there are plenty of opportunities to sell each variation in its own campaign.

22. Watercolor Pencils

Like other art supplies, watercolor pencils are great to offer. Not only can you pair them with paper, easels, paintbrushes, and other accessories that customers are likely to want, but customers who like them enough are likely to buy them again once they’ve depleted their supply.

23. Storage Vacuum Bag

This product is a good complement to the food vacuum sealer. Whereas the vacuum sealer is good for keeping food fresh, storage vacuum bags can help with organization at home by sealing and storing clothes or other items. They’re also great for moving if people need to make more space in moving boxes.

24. Dog Muzzle

screenshot of shopping for dog muzzle suppliers

Not all dogs are the most well-behaved, and while they may not love these muzzles, their owners might. Unlike plain muzzle designs, you may find a market for muzzles that feature colorful and unique designs in addition to other dog accessories.

Choosing the Right Q4 Dropshipping Products Is Just the Start

All of these winning Q4 dropshipping products are some key examples of items that are suitable for many niches and sub-niches. If you can pinpoint which niche you want to target, there’s a market for just about any product imaginable. If you would like to learn more about how to start your career in dropshipping and maximize profits with winning products, reserve your seat at the exclusive, free Ecommerce Empire Builders webinar.

How to Fix Failing Facebook Ads and Boost Sales

Empire builders, have you been trying to crack the code on how to fix failing Facebook ads? Facebook ads can only get you so far on their own, and sometimes they simply won’t work at all without a good sales funnel in place. Here we’ll go over how you can analyze your sales funnels and fix those broken ads while improving your sales funnels to finally get the sales you want. The following steps will work best for Facebook ads, but you can also apply them to Instagram campaigns.

Identify Issues by Looking at the Data

When looking at your own data, we recommend that you do what you can to remain as emotionally detached as possible and analyze the data objectively

It helps to look at your business as an entity and yourself as an investor. Many business owners tend to look at their business through the subjective lens of a parent with a child that they’ve created and nurtured, and that’s the wrong approach. It’s a lot easier to get frustrated and distraught with your store’s performance if emotions get in the way. That could make it harder to pick yourself up after those low moments.

Keeping this in mind, we’ll go through what might go wrong and how you can fix failing Facebook ads to increase sales.

1. Look at Your Customers’ Purchases First

When looking at your data, the first item to look at is the purchases. You’ll want to look at the purchases made over a three-day period, which is the same period you should allow for each type of data. It could also be as long as five days, but the important thing is to give your campaigns enough time to perform and determine whether they’re working or need some tweaking. Otherwise, you could be making decisions before your campaigns really have enough time to take effect.

In this example, let’s say you’ve been running Facebook ads for around two to three days. A couple of things have happened in your ad sets, one of which is a complete lack of purchases made within the three-day period. Now that you know what’s going on with the purchases, it’s time to go deeper.

2. Check the Click-Through Rate

screen grab of Ali's flowchart for how to fix failing Facebook ads with a CTR below 2%

If you notice that you’re not making a single purchase with your ads, the next item to examine is the click-through rate (CTR). To view your CTR in Facebook ads, you will need to go into your customized columns and select this metric manually.

When looking at your ad sets’ CTRs, you will specifically want to determine if it’s greater than or less than two percent. (FYI: two percent is the industry standard for the CTR that the average Facebook ad will get.) If your CTR is greater than two percent, it’s best to leave the ad set running for either another two to three days or at two to three times the cost of the product.

For example, say you’re selling a product for around $10 and your CTR is at around three percent or higher. If that’s the case, then wait until you’ve spent at least $30 before choosing to continue or stop the campaign. Doing so can help give Facebook ad sets more time to generate traffic to your landing pages. You can potentially gain more traction and increase your odds of breaking even.

If your CTR is under two percent, you’re better off leaving the ad set running for two more days or twice the cost of the product, which can give it a chance to reach or exceed two percent. If the ad set still fails to perform after running for two more days or twice the product cost, you will need to fix one of two things: the ads, or the targeting.

How to Fix Failing Facebook Ads: Either Change Your Creative or Your Copy

The most effective way to boost CTR is to change the creative elements of your ads. Changing the copy can also help if you develop an appealing headline and body text or offer that speaks to your audience. But if you want quick favorable results, then your best bet is to change the creative.

How to Fix Failing Facebook Ads: Change the Ad’s Targeting

If you’re happy with your creative and copy but your ads still aren’t performing the way you want them to, then it’s time to look at the targeting. Make sure your ads are targeting and reaching the right audience, which can also improve CTR.

Once your CTR increases, leave your ad sets running for another two to three days to allow them to gain hold.

3. Look at the Opt-In Page

If your ads are still failing to perform with a CTR above two percent and you’re not seeing any increase in sales, the next step is to find out what’s wrong with the opt-in page.

Specifically, you’ll want to look at the opt-in rate. It should be in or greater than the 20 to 30 percent range. If the opt-in rate is lower, the best way to increase this metric is to change the way the offer is displayed. People may have clicked through the ad because of the offer’s initial appeal. But you need to figure out how to maximize the proposed value of the offer and prove that it’s worth the customer’s investment.

How to Fix Failing Facebook Ads: 2 Quick Ways to Improve Your Offers

Two key steps can help improve the performance of your opt-in offers:

  1. Hide the price
  2. Use the best possible offer stack image

You can also add more customer testimonials, change the headline, or increase the offer.

4. Modify the Order Form

dropshipper following a tested process for fixing their online order form

If you’ve made all the above changes and your opt-in rate is at or exceeding 20 to 30 percent but you’re still not making any sales, the next phase would entail looking at your order forms.

When it comes to gauging your order forms’ performance, you’ll want to look at the order rate. You should try to aim for an order rate of greater than 10 percent. If your order rate is low even with a high opt-in rate, this indicates a broken ordering process.

How to Fix Failing Facebook Ads: Test the Funnel and Fix the Offer

To boost the order rate, the first step to take is to test the funnel. If the funnel is still working well and there doesn’t appear to be a reason for a lack of orders at this point, you’ve either:

  1. Priced the offer too high.
  2. Priced the offer incorrectly.

If the offer is priced too high, consider dropping it down slightly to increase acquisitions. If the price is incorrect, this could mean that people think that the offer promises an entirely free product, only to feel like they’ve been misled and have to pay for shipping or other costs. Change the order form to reflect the costs of shipping and handling or other expenses.

What to Do If the Ads Are Working (But Not Well Enough)

If you’ve finally made one or more sales, look at the cost per purchase (CPP). A CPP less than the average customer purchase (i.e., the cost of the cart) is a good sign of success.

If your CPP exceeds the average cart cost, here are some steps you can take to tip the scales and increase the average cart:

  1. Add upsells.
  2. Include quantity breaks that give a discount for buying two or more of an item.
  3. Create or further optimize the order form.
  4. Add an order bump.
  5. Add products to the “Thank You” page.
  6. Improve continuity by encouraging customers to subscribe and maximize their lifetime value.
  7. Send emails reminding people to continue their purchases after abandoning their carts.
  8. Add buyer automation that keeps customers coming back for upsells and repeat purchases.

Remember, give your campaigns time to perform and stick. If your ad sets still fail to perform after you make changes, you can proceed to dig deeper. Find out where the issues lie and optimize your campaigns accordingly. Ultimately, this will help you win with highly effective Facebook or Instagram influencer marketing and maximize acquisitions to boost sales.

From Selling Gag Gifts to Earning $1,000,000 as a Successful Dropshipping Store

Empire builders, are you ready to create your own $1,000,000 dropshipping store? To help you speed through your dropshipping learning curve, check out the case study I did on an extremely successful dropshipping store below. In this case study, I’ll take you through the inside of a business that is making millions each month. You can use these key takeaways and implement them into your own eCommerce business today.

Manscaped

The dropshipping store that we will be analyzing today is Manscaped. When this store came out two to three years ago, it was a joke that just sold gag gifts. However, the store has now transformed from gag gifts to a million-dollar business.

There are a ton of things I love about this store and a few things I don’t. Today, I will clue you in on what I think Manscaped gets right and a few things I think they could work on. However, at the end of the day, money talks. This store has proven to be extremely profitable, so they’re doing something right.

Ads Are the Bread and Butter of Every Successful Dropshipping Store

In the dropshipping industry, ads are your bread and butter. One thing that Manscaped has perfected is their ads. So, what can you learn from them? First things first, you must do your research. Research is key when it comes to creating a profitable dropshipping business. Always research what types of ads your competition is running. This is free market research, so don’t miss out on this opportunity. If you really want to geek out on marketing, I recommend reading Breakthrough Advertising

For now, head over to the Manscaped Facebook page. There, you can see the types of ads they are running right now. Manscaped runs a variety of ads on Facebook, something that I think every dropshipping business needs to do if they want to be profitable.

Remember, not all ads are created equal.

You can’t run the same ads you do to loyal customers as you do to people who have never heard of your brand. You have to understand the temperature of your traffic and cater your ads to the specific type of customer you are targeting. The two main types of advertisements that Manscaped runs and that you need run for your own business are cold traffic ads and retargeting ads.

1. Cold Traffic Ads

woman scrolling through ads on social media

Cold traffic ads are the ads you run to people who have never heard of your brand before. They don’t know anything about your product yet, so you have to highlight the solution that your product will bring to them.

2. Retargeting Ads

Retargeting ads are the ads you run to customers who have already bought from you or those who already have a sense of what your brand is all about. In these types of ads, you highlight your products while keeping your brand at the forefront of potential customers’ minds.

Manscaped does a good job of running both cold traffic ads and retargeting ads, as you can tell from their Facebook ads library. They also make their advertising fun. Their slogan is, “Over 1 million men trust Manscaped tools for their family jewels.” This is a fun advertisement that uses a play on words to draw customers into the brand.

Use Manscaped’s slogan as inspiration to create a fun and captivating slogan for your business. The thing about ads and marketing is that you can’t just copy and paste someone else’s copy. Great copy and ads are assembled like a puzzle. You take inspiration from multiple sources and then create something unique for your brand.

Perfecting the Landing Page for a Successful Dropshipping Store

Once you’ve learned how to create ads that send traffic to your store, your landing page must be set up to make the sale. If your ad did a good job advertising the product, you can go right in for the sale.

However, if your ad didn’t do a good job of pre-framing the product, then you have to sell the customer on the product. Manscaped’s landing page has a mixture of both. They are telling you about the product, while also selling you on it.

What I Don’t Like About Manscaped’s Landing Page

discussing the multiple product offers on Manscaped's landing page

What I don’t like about Manscaped‘s landing page is that they seem to have too much going on. But a confused mind does not buy. The Manscaped landing page has tabs to other products. This adds confusion for the customer.

People want to be told what’s best. So tell them by focusing on one specific offer. Make this offer clear, and don’t try to showcase every product you sell.

Confusion over this concept is why a lot of dropshippers have great site traffic but poor conversion to sales. They try to sell the customer on a hundred different products at once. Remember, a confused mind will never buy. You can offer different products on your store, but you must only highlight one specific offer when trying to get that first sale. The big takeaway is to always have one clear offer on your landing page. Tell the customer what they want and make the sale. Even if you don’t make the sale immediately, you can keep reaching out with the strategies I discuss here.

What I Do Like About Manscaped’s Landing Page

What I do like about Manscaped’s landing page are its layout and its imagery. They have a scrolling CTA, which is a nice touch. They also have premium images depicting their product. You must have premium images in your store if you want to make big money. This doesn’t necessarily mean professional photographs. 3D rendered images are all you really need to have premium images on your dropshipping site.

Manscaped also does a good job of highlighting their product’s most significant benefit. That’s what a successful dropshipping store does. People don’t need the nitty-gritty information about your product; most of them don’t care.

Highlight the one huge benefit your product has to offer a potential customer. If you don’t know what that one big benefit is, consult with the consumer. Listen and talk to customers about your product. By doing this, you will see a recurring theme about what customers like about your product. This is your selling point. Overall, I love the Manscaped site. The only thing I would change would be to focus on a single offer, rather than trying to sell multiple products at once.

How Untapped Focus Grew

At Ecommerce Empire Builders, we have created a successful supplement company known as Untapped Focus. This company has truly been built on the backs of influencers. We have paid very little in ads toward this business. We took our Instagram page from 100 followers to over 10,000 followers in just a month through our Instagram marketing strategy.

Our marketing strategy was simple.

We paid Instagram influencers for shoutouts. We spent around $600 on this process. However, the investment turned out to be well worth the initial costs as Untapped Focus has been able to thrive from influencer marketing.

The influencers we worked with are probably not the ones you think of right off the bat. In terms of Instagram influencers, there are two types. There are meme page influencers and then personal brand influencers. Meme pages are the Instagram pages that center around a single topic like entrepreneurship, business, or investing. These pages give people tips and content focused on these subjects.

In comparison, personal brand influencers have Instagram pages that are focused on their personality or lifestyle. For growing our supplement company, we primarily worked with meme page influencers. While some dropshippers in the industry have said meme page advertisement is dead, our company is proof that this strategy is still thriving (and it can help no matter what you’re selling).

How to Create a Winning Instagram

Instagram influencer marketing is great for building your brand awareness. But first, you have to create your own winning Instagram page. Your Instagram page is essentially the landing page of your brand. You have to create an Instagram page that can be a conversion machine before you can have success through influencer marketing.

So, how do you create a winning Instagram page?

1. Writing a Captivating Bio

One element that is extremely important in successful Instagram brand pages is the bio. In the first three to four lines of your bio, you have to sell your product. You do this by showcasing the one main benefit your product can bring to people.

For us, our big, bold statement is that our supplement provides everyone with all-day focus naturally with no calories, sugars, carbs, jitters, or crashes. Remember, your business goal is to provide people with solutions. Make sure your Instagram bio relays to the customer how your product will make their life easier or better in some aspects.

2. Utilizing Story Highlights

A second element you need to nail down on your Instagram brand page is the story highlight feature. Stories are an Instagram feature that allows for both monetization and product education. We use the story highlight feature to educate our customers on everything they need to know about the product. We also have story highlights that go over details like shipping.

Having story highlights that answer common questions in an easy-to-access space is an excellent feature for customers. It also gives you a place to direct customers, so you don’t have to answer the same question repeatedly. Instagram stories also allow you a space to sell your product. This is a feature we use regularly and suggest that you do the same.

3. Having a Mixture of Posts

Post content is the third element that you need to master to set up a winning Instagram brand page. Ultimately, your brand page needs to have a mixture of posts. The two main types of posts you need to have on your Instagram page are viral content posts and product posts

Viral Style Posts

Viral style posts have a hook and draw people in with valuable information nuggets and captivating graphics. This style of post gives people a reason to follow you even if they’re not going to buy your product right away. But make no mistake: each follower you gain is a potential customer.

Product Style Posts

Product style posts educate your followers on what type of products you sell. These posts are designed to help followers see how your product can make their lives easier. These types of posts have a longer copy to drive home the benefits of your product. Think of your Instagram posts as your social media landing page. You want potential customers to know two things. The first is the products that you sell, and the second is how the product can help them better their lives.

You will always want your Instagram branding page to have a variety of these two styles of posts. Utilizing both styles will keep current followers engaged and help to bring in new followers, as well. It also sets a solid foundation for your Instagram influencer marketing strategy.

Working with the Right Influencers

After you’ve set up a winning Instagram branding page, you need to start working with the right influencers for your Instagram influencer marketing strategy. If you’re looking to grow your following, we recommend working with meme page influencers. There are a few steps that we go through to find the right type of pages to reach out to and work with.

1. Research Popular Meme Pages

The first step in finding influencers to work is conducting research. Get on Instagram and search a keyword like entrepreneurs or business. A ton of meme-style Instagram pages will pop up. Go through this list and look at the content these pages put out and the number of followers they have.

2. Check Out Their Metric on Social Blade

After you’ve created a list of some meme pages that you like, you can head on over to Social Blade. This website will give you all the stats you need to know about these pages, like their engagement levels and daily average growth. A page’s daily average growth is the determining factor for us when it comes to striking an advertising deal with the page. If the page has been able to grow itself successfully, it will help your brand page grow.

3. Strike a Deal

Once you’ve found the prime influencers you want to work with, it’s time to strike a deal. We start by contacting pages, and they generally come back with their rates. We always pay based on a page’s stats. If they come back with an offer that is too high, we respond with something along the lines of, “Based on your stats, this is the offer we are willing to pay.”

This negotiating tactic has worked well for us, and most brands take the deal we offer. The great thing about researching is that a page can’t lie about their metrics. A page’s metrics can easily be found, and their page’s performance metrics ultimately determines their worth.

Paying for influencer shoutouts has yielded our business significant returns. You can have the same results for your eCommerce business as long as you do your research
