Top Dropshipping Niches in 2024

As the dynamic world of e-commerce continues to evolve, so do the opportunities in the dropshipping industry. As we approach 2024, the stage is set for a new array of untapped markets that savvy entrepreneurs can leverage. This article will delve into Top Dropshipping Niches in 2024, highlighting their potential for profitability and growth.

Pickleball: Catering to the Sports Enthusiasts

In the heart of an entrepreneur lies the hunger for fresh and untapped markets. One such promising niche is pickleball, an increasingly popular sport. Especially with the 50-plus age group, this sport is drawing tremendous attention. Combining elements of ping pong and tennis, it offers both fun and fitness.

In recent times, an explosion of interest in pickleball equipment has been observed. High-quality pickleball paddles, for instance, have seen great demand. A gap in the market has been identified for custom-designed paddles, incorporating unique art or other visually appealing elements. Catering to the younger generation that’s showing interest in pickleball, these custom paddles could be sold at a premium.

Moreover, it’s not only about paddles. There are opportunities to upsell other pickleball-related products like paddle cases, balls, and shoes, enabling entrepreneurs to target a broader customer base. This niche thus offers a gateway to significant profits and an opportunity for business expansion.

Air Purification: Addressing Growing Environmental Concerns

The mounting concerns over air quality due to factors such as wildfires and pollution have driven people to seek solutions for improved air quality. Cue air purifiers, a product with rising interest over the past five years.

The concept of air purification furniture or modular tiles is an exciting venture. These innovative products offer both aesthetic enhancement and air purification simultaneously. Sourcing such items from reliable suppliers provides an opportunity to offer affordable alternatives to existing options, allowing a lucrative dropshipping business to bloom in the air purification niche.

Sleep Tracking: Tapping into the Health and Wellness Market

The health and wellness sector has been booming, and within this industry, there’s a growing fascination with sleep tracking. More individuals are interested in monitoring their sleep patterns since better sleep leads to improved productivity and overall well-being.

While developing new sleep-tracking devices may seem daunting, there’s an easier route: selling accessories for existing sleep trackers. The market for sleep-tracking rings and related accessories is ripe for entrepreneurs. By offering these accessories at competitive prices, it is possible to serve the health-conscious market and generate substantial sales.

Virtual Reality: Riding the Tech Wave

Virtual reality (VR) is an arena that’s been gaining momentum in recent years. The release of new products, such as Apple Visions Pro, has piqued the interest of consumers in VR-related products, including accessories.

By focusing on the accessory market, similar to that of phone cases, it is possible to cater to the massive VR market. The demand for VR accessories such as covers, gloves, full-body trackers, headset stands, and external battery packs is strong and growing.

Creating a brand and offering a range of accessories could help establish a profitable business in the VR niche.

Conclusion

Unearthing promising niches for your online dropshipping business in 2024 is all about keeping a finger on the pulse of emerging trends. Each of these niches presents unique opportunities for profitability and growth. However, it’s vital to conduct thorough research, source high-quality products, and create a strong brand presence to stand out in the market. Are you ready to start your dropshipping empire?

The Four Things You Need to Make $5,000 a Month in Online Sales

We’ve seen some of our Ecommerce Empire Builder students hit some amazing monthly totals with online sales. Some have hit $10,000, others have hit $50,000, and some have even hit seven figures.

If you’re thinking about getting started with online sales or have already started and are stagnating, you’re probably wondering how you can get to those profit levels.

Luckily, there’s a system for you to get there.

We’ve had four of our students in our seven-figure club prove that while the group is hanging in rarified air, it’s an attainable goal. We’ve had even more people — 29 — hit $50,000 in a month. Also, 50 people have hit our $10,000 per month club.

So how did they do it? What steps did they take to get to that level of success?

The Four Quadrants

Look, I get it. $5,000 a month can seem like an intimidating number for a lot of people. The truth is, everyone who began their eCommerce journey had a moment at the beginning where they wondered whether or not they could make a living from this.

But it can be done — and there’s proof.

Screen grab of Peter Pru recommending viewers watch student success story videos

My YouTube channel features lots of testimonials from members who have crossed the $10k, $50k, and seven-figure thresholds. These are people who followed our program, put in the work, and have seen the results.

Watch these videos and listen to their stories (and share some love by liking/commenting while you’re there!). These are our students inside our eCommerce Empire Academy, so there is a lot to learn from them.

When it comes to our students who hit the $10,000 per month club, how did they do it? How are so many people successful at this level — and why are so many people NOT successful?

Our success stories come from a variety of business types and industries, but they all had at least one thing in common: they’ve mastered the four quadrants.

These are the four things every business must identify to be successful. The quadrants are composed of:

  1. Niche
  2. Offer
  3. Funnel
  4. Traffic

Let’s take a look at each one.

1. Niche

Online business owners assessing new strategies for online sales and marketing

Without a doubt, this is the most important component of building your online sales business. Of course, having a great product is critical here, but it’s not enough.

Before you have a winning product, you need to know your niche and understand, “Who am I selling it to?”

Start with the people who have a problem that you and your product can solve. Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Who is my target audience?
  • What are they already buying?
  • How can we sell them something they’re already buying, but this time, they buy from us?

The best way to identify a niche is to stay in the realm of passions and hobbies. These are tried and true areas, neither of which is going away any time soon.

Trendy, viral fads can make short-term money, but they often dwindle and die.

Pursuing passions and hobbies, which are typically long-standing niches, is a better way to set yourself up for long-term, lasting success.

2. Offer

Screen grab of Peter Pru discussing how to make more valuable offers

Next, you have to identify your product, which represents your offer. This one is simple (but not easy). What are you offering your target audience in your specific niche? What product are they buying from you, and what reason can you give them to buy from you over your competitors?

That’s the most crucial question to ask in establishing your offer. What differentiates you from everyone else?

The term “secret sauce” is a cliche at this point, but it’s often used for a reason. It represents what one company has that another doesn’t. So what’s your offering’s secret sauce?

When you explain what your offer includes that the competition doesn’t, you shouldn’t focus on price. Basing your offer on price is a race to the bottom. Unfortunately, that’s what you get on Amazon, and it’s no way to run a business.

What you want to do is work backward. Craft offers from products your audience members are already buying. The easiest way to do this is to offer a bundle of digital products. For example: let’s say you sell a fly fishing rod. You can also include an eBook or video tutorial on fly fishing.

These kinds of product packages offer added value to your customer that they can’t find elsewhere. It shows you care about their specific needs; you care about the people at the other end of the transaction.

They can’t get an irresistible offer like that from Amazon.

If finding your niche is the most important part, crafting your irresistible offer is the hardest. After that, it all gets much easier, and people will find a way to give you money.

3. Funnel

Once you have your niche and your offer, you’re ready to build your funnel (i.e., a Clickfunnels or Shopify store). People often put this first because it’s tangible, whereas your niche and your offer are not.

You can’t skip the steps, however. If your niche and offer are in place, and you’ve done the necessary research, the funnel building part is easy.

It involves copywriting, crafting offers, and figuring out how to connect your audience to your offer. There are many training and templates available for you to help you do this.

4. Traffic

Finally, the last quadrant is traffic. The strategy and tactics you use to build traffic streams will depend on your budget.

You can go with influencer marketing, where you reach out to someone with an existing social media following. You give them money and creative materials (scripts, copy, etc.). Then they give you a shout-out on their popular channels, helping you make online sales.

This is the best strategy if you are on a tight budget.

If you have more to spend, you can go with a paid advertising strategy, targeting platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Google. This requires a higher budget because it’s expensive. But remember, your advertising is only as effective as the data about your buyers that you can give these platforms.

The best answer is to mix in a little of both. Ads and influencer marketing that work together can be a powerful combination.

How to Get Your First 1,000 YouTube Subscribers With No Experience Making Videos

Welcome back, Empire Builders! If you’re just starting out on YouTube or considering starting your own channel, you’re in luck. Today I’ll be going over how I come up with my video topics and how you can get your first 1,000 YouTube subscribers. Let’s jump right in.

Finding Your Niche

I’m sure some of you have decided to start a YouTube channel because you have a topic in mind that you love to talk about, and you want to share that passion with others. If you’re about to start an ecommerce business and want to use a YouTube channel to help drive traffic to your sales funnel, that’s a great way to both spread knowledge about a topic you like and build your audience. It’s a strategy I definitely recommend, and I’ll take you through the process I use to choose a niche and ensure it has potential.

Personally, I always start with hobby niches. Just Google a list of hobbies and go through to find one that interests you. Once you have one in mind, go to Google Trends and type in the name of the hobby. This is just to see if enough people are searching for the topic to sustain a business.

Make sure the results show that the topic has had steady traffic in the last few years. Then you can feel pretty sure that it’s not going anywhere. You don’t want to pick a fad topic that isn’t time tested. Why? Because you want to bring people to your channel, and then to your website, consistently for years to come.

How to Find Video Topic Ideas

Video Topic Ideas on YouTube

First, go to YouTube and search for your topic. See what kind of content people are consuming. When you see the top-ranking videos, don’t try to compete with people who have millions of subscribers and views (especially when you first start out). Be specific to your niche.

For example, if you picked pottery as your core focus, type “how to make pottery” into YouTube. That topic is still too broad, so add a space after it and see the suggestions it brings up.

You’ll see things like “how to make pottery at home without electricity” and “how to make pottery glaze from scratch.” You could even go a step further by picking one of those subtopics and adding a space again to check the suggestions; keep narrowing in on a very specific topic. Those suggestions tell you what people are searching for. If the results don’t have any videos with that exact title, yours would come up first. With enough unique and valuable videos, you’ll be well on your way to getting your first 1,000 YouTube subscribers.

Video Topic Ideas on AnswerThePublic.com

Screen grab of researching topics on AnswerThePublic.com

Next, go to AnswerThePublic.com, which is a resource for finding what people are searching for. Once again, type in your topic. You’ll get two or three free searches a day, or you can upgrade to the premium version. When you type in your topic, the results will come up on a display wheel.

I prefer “how-to” video topics as those will be relevant for years, long after you get your first 1,000 YouTube subscribers. You could potentially get views every day and drive business to your website. The point is to make the videos an asset to your business, so make evergreen content and always include a call to action. Many people quit before they give it enough time to be successful. If you make consistent content and release two or three videos a week — and really stick with it until it’s successful — you will see both your channel and your business grow.

How to Optimize Content to Get Your First 1,000 YouTube Subscribers (And More)

Screengrab of adding keywords to YouTube videos

At Ecommerce Empire Builders, we use a paid tool called VidIQ. I highly recommend it. This tool will tell you what keywords are best suited for your content. When you create a video, VidIQ will suggest keywords as tags for your video. Always make sure that the title of your video appears somewhere in the description, as well. Look at our videos for examples, and feel free to use them as a template to help your creative process.

Use as many of the keywords as possible in your description and headline to help people find your content when they search for the topic. Basically, give YouTube what it wants. Help it show your content to the right people by working within the system they use. Again, I can’t recommend VidIQ highly enough. If you don’t use that, use some kind of tool to help you with this. It goes a long way.

How to Get Your First 1,000 YouTube Subscribers

Someone following a cooking how-to video to make dinner

Now I’m going to go over how to get your first 1,000 YouTube subscribers, and I’ll be sharing some little tricks and hacks that I used myself when I was first starting out on YouTube. All you really have to do to get more subscribers is provide value. However, there are some things that will help speed up the process. One thing I did was leverage Facebook groups. Just type in your niche, and search under the ‘Groups’ category to find groups of users who are already interested in your niche topic.

If you are careful and go about it the right way, you can advertise in these groups. Everyone has heard that you can’t advertise in these groups, but you can if you approach it correctly. Don’t join these groups and start spamming your links or being overt about your products and services, especially as a new member. That will get you flagged. Go into the groups and be helpful. Add real value. Join the biggest, most active groups, and comment on people’s posts — answer questions, help them, and be genuine.

Do this consistently for at least a week so you won’t be flagged as a new member anymore. They will start seeing you as part of their community, and you’ll earn their respect along with some goodwill. Watch the activity and wait until you see a common question that keeps coming up time and time again. If it’s something you have a video on, answer the question and link your video with a nice response explaining that you just shot a video on the topic. You can even give them the timestamp for the information they’re looking for. Remember, the point is always to add real value.

How to Assess and Build Great Subscription Box Offers

Empire builders, are you looking for ways to increase your ecommerce business revenue?  Adding subscription boxes to your dropshipping business can earn you extra revenue. Read on to learn more about how you can build great subscription box offers that you can easily add to your dropshipping business.

How to Grow Your Dropshipping Business With Subscription Boxes

I have realized that many people who are starting out on ecommerce and dropshipping miss out on the opportunity to make extra money. However, having some kind of monthly program like a subscription box can help you get some free money.

Here is my advice on how to find and add these subscription boxes:

1. See How Other Businesses Build Great Subscription Box Offers

screen grab of the process to start researching niche subscription offers

The first step is to do some research to see what kind of subscriptions are out there. Make sure you do not go too niche-specific — you want to get a lot of search results.

Research will give you great ideas and help you know what the actual offer is. The information you gather will come in handy when deciding what you need to offer to charge the kind of prices that others charge. In my view, you should not provide customers with too many options in terms of subscription. In fact, I would recommend a maximum of two options.

2. Focus on Value

Generally, people find value in the things that they enjoy doing. To get people to sign up for your subscription program, you have to make sure that you provide value. Tell your customers exactly what they will be getting for their money. Because people will always want more value in a box, you want to make sure that the value you offer outweighs what they spend.

We all have so many subscriptions to a variety of things and will remain on the subscription plan as long as we keep getting value. For instance, I am subscribed to a toothbrush company that sends me a new toothbrush with a battery every two to three months for about five to ten dollars. This saves me a lot of time and the trouble of having to think about it. When it comes to value, be sure to offer at least the average of what others in your niche are delivering to customers.

3. Focus on Simplicity and Functionality

As you work on adding subscription boxes, keep your offer easy and simple. A simple subscription plan will be less confusing to your customers and save you a lot of headaches down the line. Remember: confused customers never buy.

In the end, a clear message will also help you attract higher numbers. When looking at the different subscriptions that are available, you should compare them to find out who is giving the most value. When you’re working with an online retail service like AliExpress, make sure you find a supplier who will pack and ship it for you.

Pro Tip: Always Use High-Quality Images and Video

screen grab of an example subscription box page with good images

I always like it when businesses make proper use of images in their subscriptions. Images will play a big part in helping you show your customers what they will get when they sign up for your subscription plan. Try to use high-quality images to show them what is inside the box to raise your perceived value and come across as a valid business.

Another way to make the most of subscription boxes is to show people the experience of how it feels like to buy from you and open the box. You can do this by using images creatively and including an unboxing video that reviews the different products people will get. To create a high perceived value, I would suggest you get an influencer to create the videos for you rather than doing it yourself. Simply send the box to your influencer and describe the kind of unboxing video you would like for your advertisement.

When it comes to the subscription box game, you do not want to simply own a subscription box. These tips are actually designed for those who want to upsell subscriptions for growth. As an ecommerce empire builder, you should avoid selling subscriptions on the front end OR competing on price. Instead, focus on providing the value that your customers desire.

What to Know If You Are New to Ecommerce Empire Builders

man starting to research and build great subscription box offers

If you are new to Ecommerce Empire Builders, I would like to repeat that selling your subscription on the front end can make it difficult for you to be profitable. Because you will be competing with many people, you may want to focus on getting that first “yes.” My advice would be to build out a funnel and have a great front-end product to get your first purchase before upselling the subscription. This way, you will make money from the first sale and also get monthly subscribers in a cost-effective way.

In summary, the first thing you need to understand is that people are looking for more value in a box. My advice to you would be to take time and look at different subscription boxes in your specific niche to get an idea of the value they are offering in the boxes. This information will help you determine how much value you need to build great subscription box offers.

A useful rule of thumb is to double the value or make it between $10 and $15 more than what they are paying to ensure that subscription boxes work for your business. Consider having your supplier send the packed products in a box so you can see the finished product for yourself.

Find Winning Products With These Dropshipping Product Research Tools

Empire builders, you already know that the key to success in the ecommerce industry is selling winning products. This is a simple concept, but how exactly do you go about finding these winning products? Check out all the tools I have used to find myself and my Ecommerce Empire clients extremely profitable dropshipping products below. Don’t just take my word for it. Start using these dropshipping product research tools in your own market research to find profitable ecommerce products and niches today.

Market Research Is What Sets You Apart

There are tons of individuals joining the ecommerce industry every day. What you need to understand is that market research is what separates the success stories from the “could have, would have, should have” stories. There is no magic pill, site, or product when it comes to success in the ecommerce industry. You have to put the work in, and you have to put emerge yourself into market research on the daily if you want to have success within this industry.

The research tools I’m about to share with you are the tools I use myself in all of my market research efforts. I also recently revealed some of the top-performing products right now. I focus primarily on utilizing free market research tools. It’s all you really need to find winning products. However, I will share some paid market research tools that I have found success with too.

Free Market and Dropshipping Product Research Tools

Before you go looking for the perfect product or sourcing method, you must make sure there is a market for the products or niche you’re trying to get into. Don’t be the person selling products or breaking into a niche where people aren’t already buying. Your compelling offer and good marketing mean nothing when you’re selling a product that nobody wants. You have to do your research before jumping headfirst into a niche. Search for articles that discuss market trends and utilize the following free tools to determine if a potential product or niche is likely to be profitable or not.

1. Google Trends

screenshot of "bread baking" search volume over time on Google

The first free market research tool I recommend using is Google Trends. You can use this tool to find the average search volume of various keywords, phrases, products, or niches. I love using this tool as it gives an excellent insight into the potential that exists within various products or niches. For example, you could look up the average search volume for the phrases “bread baking” or “bread machine.” If these phrases show a strong average search volume, then bread-making products may be a good niche to get into.

2. Amazon

After using Google Trends to determine if a niche looks promising, I make my way over to Amazon. Believe it or not, Amazon is one of the best free-market research tools for dropshippers. Amazon gives you access to real market data by showing you what products are selling well in various sales categories. You always have to look at the data because data never lies.

The first thing I like to do when I get to Amazon is to type in a keyword or product and then put a space after it. This will show you what the most popular searches are regarding this product or niche. For example, if you type in “bread making” and put a space, Amazon will show you the most popular searches with this phrase. This shows you what potential customers are already looking for and gives you insight into potential products you can include within your sales funnel.

You can use Amazon to discover both physical products and information products you can use to pair with your front end product. Once again, with bread making as your niche, you can find information products like popular bread making books that are selling on Amazon. Look at the table of contents of these popular books and then create a quick, yet beneficial 3-4 page information product that gives the beginner bread maker some tips or tricks.

Overdelivering is key with first-time customers. You can’t just have a front-end offer. It would be best if you paired your front-end offer with complementary physical and information products that provide added value and incentive to the customer. You have to make your offer both clear and enticing to make the sale.

3. AliExpress

The final free market research tool I frequently use is AliExpress. After I’ve seen what products are selling well in a potential niche on Amazon, I head on over to AliExpress to discover how I could source these potential products.

The first thing I do on AliExpress is to look at the current sales volume of potential products. If there are tons of units being sold, I have a winner as there is a clear demand for the product. After I’ve determined the product’s potential, I search AliExpress for complimentary products and order bumps that I can offer with my front-end offer.

Paid Market Research Tools

screenshot of Ecomhunt during a video conference

Now, the three free dropshipping product research tools are all you need to have success with your own market research. However, I understand some of you might want something that provides a little more in-depth analysis.

If you’re going to pay for a market research tool, I recommend getting a subscription to Ecomhunt. I’ve used this site to find some cool products in my various niches. The site gives you access to an in-depth analysis of various products, Facebook ad examples, and YouTube videos of the product being used all in one convenient location. Keep in mind that there is no magic research tool — paid or unpaid. Your success within the industry will be determined by your ability to put in consistent effort.

Top 7 At-Home Niches with Profitable Dropshipping Products

As empire builders, you already know the potential that lies within dropshipping. As more people are at home now than ever, home-related niches are exploding in sales right now. Now is the time to capitalize on these types of sales, and we can give you the tools and strategies to make it happen. However, you must do your market research before jumping into any one niche. In marketing and sales, nothing will ever trump research. Start by taking a deeper look at mass markets, niches, and these seven dropshipping areas. Read this quick breakdown and watch our video for an in-depth look at how to explore niches.

Mass Markets and Niches

screen grab of video discussing mass markets and niches for dropshipping products

The first thing you need to understand in dropshipping is that there are both mass markets and niches. Mass markets encompass all of the niches in the market. Every mass market has a ton of niches to tap into. Niches are where your opportunities as a dropshipper lie. For example, fishing is a mass market. There are a ton of niches within the mass market of fishing, including rods, poles, line, lures, magnets, boxes, bait, bobbers… and the list goes on. You need to tap into these niches when researching what products to sell in your dropshipping business.

Market Research

To be successful in dropshipping, you need to put a great deal of effort into market research. Google is the place to start all of your market research. My favorite keyword to use when researching new dropshipping products is the word “hobby.”

If you type “home hobbies” into Google, a ton of suggestions will automatically pop up. These automatic searches are important to note, as they provide insight into what potential customers are already searching for. This Google search process is just to gather information.

You want to be on the lookout for products that are:

  • Physical
  • Not brand specific
  • Sellable within a specific niche

It’s important to remember that a good portion of your time in the eCommerce and dropshipping industry will be spent gathering information and conducting market research. You can’t skip this process if you want to find success within the eCommerce industry.

Validate Your Market Research

Screen grab of well-written product overviews

Once you conduct some market research on potential dropshipping products, it’s time to validate your findings. To validate your market research, head on over to Amazon today. Search for the products you’re thinking about buying on Amazon. You will be able to discover if these products are selling well and what their selling rank is on the site.

If your potential dropshipping products are performing well on Amazon, then go to Ali Express to check the products’ price and selling rank.

Remember: competition is good in the market place. You want your potential products to be performing well. This means there is a tremendous amount of opportunity to tap into this specific product and niche.

Once you find a product that is performing well, all you have to do is get the product cheaper. Then put some information products together to make your offer more enticing compared to your competitions’ listings.

7 Mass Markets and Niches to Tap Into

researching niche-specific dropshipping products and prices on AliExpress

There are many mass markets and niches to tap into as a dropshipper. I always suggest that you get into a niche that you like, as it will make your work more enjoyable.

However, never get into a niche that is not already profitable. Market research is your best friend in the eCommerce industry, and your business will never be successful if you don’t properly research your products and the overall market.

Here are the top seven mass-market ideas to research during this time to find the right niche for your dropshipping business.

1. Home

Home is a huge mass-market industry in the eCommerce industry. There are tons of niches and opportunities to tap into in this specific niche. Think:

  • Cleaning
  • Organizing
  • Games
  • Home improvement
  • Lighting

The possibilities are endless in the home market industry. Start your research, find well-performing dropshipping products in the home goods industry, and you should be well on your way to a seven-figure dropshipping business.

2. Hobbies

Hobbies are another huge mass-market industry with endless opportunities in the eCommerce world. An excellent place to research hobbies and potential niches is on Wikipedia. Wikipedia breaks down all the major hobbies from inside hobbies to outside hobbies and more. This will give you a good starting point when looking for a good hobby niche and best-selling dropshipping products.

3. Writing

Writing is another good industry for dropshippers to look into. There are a lot of niche products within the writing market. From pencil grips to typewriters to premium pens, there is a variety of products to make a profit on in the writing industry.

4. Garage

The garage is another very profitable area with a lot of opportunities for dropshippers to tap into. Garage lights, for example, are a great niche product to center a dropshipping business around. Think about who you are selling to, like car enthusiasts who love to spend their free time out in the garage tinkering with cars and tools.

Thinking about what type of person you’re selling to and what products they would be likely to buy is an essential element in your market research.

5. Health

Health is another mass-market industry that has an endless supply of niches. Think:

  • Free weights
  • Yoga mats
  • General fitness equipment

People are working out from home now more than ever before. This is a great niche market to tap into right now.

6. Kids

Parents are always looking for ideas to keep their kids learning and entertained. Kids are a huge mass-market industry with a variety of great niches to capitalize on. Think toys, learning tools, sports equipment, baby supplies, and more. There are so many routes you could go down within this industry.

7. Garden

A final promising industry to look into is gardening. There are tons of niches within gardening and a variety of great products to sell. Put in the time and do your research on what tools and supplies are hot right now in the gardening market. Remember, market research will always be your key to success.
