How to Start a Supplement Dropshipping Business

Welcome, empire builders! If you’re new here or still learning the ropes to dropshipping, you’re in luck. Today we’re going to quickly break down and run through the steps of how you can start a supplement dropping business. You’re going to learn how to build your supplement brand 100% online through dropshipping strategies. We’re going to discuss everything from picking out suppliers and supplements to understanding how to capitalize on these decisions through advertisement and sales funnels. With that being said, let’s jump right in.

How to Start a Supplement Dropshipping Business

You’ll find that supplements are incredibly trendy right now with the current pandemic situation. But the truth is that they’ve always been a popular target for making sales. Everyone loves to buy that perfect supplement that offers them a little extra boost, and that’s part of what makes starting a supplement dropshipping business such an easy thing to capitalize on.

If you’ve never started a dropshipping business, supplements are slightly different due to the legality that comes along with them. So, if you’re unfamiliar with the market or don’t have time to learn about the legal aspects of marketing supplements, you can still start dropshipping with just $0. If your goal is to get into supplements and you have a bit of a budget, then this short guide is for you.

Selecting and Working With a Supplier

Screen grab of Peter Pru explaining how SMP works

Two suppliers that we’ve already personally vetted are Ship Offers and Supplement Manufacturing Partner (SMP). Both of these are dropshipping suppliers that focus solely on supplements rather than other products. So, how exactly does dropshipping for supplements work? Let’s break it down.

When you pull up SMP, you’ll find their catalog with 242 results for different supplements that you can private label. This means that all of the science, ingredients, manufacturing, and product-specific needs are already put together. All you have to do is pick out the supplement(s) you want to put your label on. With SMP’s supplement catalog, you can quickly click on the items you think will fit your niche and goals. Then you can check out the supplemental facts to make sure they’re a great match.

When picking out which products you want to sell as you start a supplement dropshipping business, you have two basic options. You can go white-label or custom creation.

  • White label is where the science behind creating, manufacturing, and handling the supplements is already done. White label products are ready to go and market as-is. All you have to do is work with a supplier to label the supplements and begin marketing them.
  • With custom creation, you’re working with a unique, new formula and private labeling. The concept for the product is brand new, so there’s going to be more focus on creating the perfect formula, testing it, and actually purchasing inventory.

Start a Supplement Dropshipping Business With Ingredients You Know About

In my personal opinion, especially when it comes to supplements, always sell stuff that you use. This can be a way to further market the products, but it can also build trust in what you’re offering.

Once you’ve selected a supplement, you can send an inquiry or request a sample. We always recommend that you reach out, make a call, and start the conversation. You’ll typically speak to a representative so you can learn about what their specific dropship process looks like. This is a great way to start building that relationship with the supplier, and it allows you to get to know about them.

Depending on the inventory of each supplier, sometimes there will be a minimum purchase of 100 or so units rather than on-demand options. This is commonly practiced with white labeling because that supplier will be taking their logo off a product and replacing it with yours.

The same setup goes for the other supplier, Ship Offers. Its interface is similar to AliExpress. So those of you familiar with the platform may find them easier to work with as a supplier. They also offer fulfillment services.

Beginning Sales and Marketing

As empire builders, you know that we have a basic strategy that we follow when creating and building any business. This strategy is proven to work and simple to use. The basic structure relies on three main components.

  1. The Niche — What’s the niche you want to sell to? Specifically, who
  2. Crafting the Offer — What’s your audience getting other than your product? Direct guides that go with the supplement or maybe a bundle discount?
  3. Your Funnel — This is the structure of your sales pitch. It includes your niche lingo, what your offer gives customers, and more.

Knowing how to build and use sales funnels will be crucial to growing your business.

Learning to Drive and Manage Traffic

Screen grab of Peter Pru discussing how to market supplement products and drive sales

Now that you’ve selected your supplements and partnered with a supplier, it’s time to drive traffic to your marketing campaign. For years, we’ve used the same basic strategy to manage and maintain our sales. This is especially true when you start a supplement dropshipping business. There are so many options out there, and brand loyalty is major among consumers.

The trick is combining influencer shoutouts with retargeting ads. The idea behind it is that you’re driving warm traffic to your offer and your funnel. Retargeting ads then pop up for consumers that have already seen a little bit of what your brand has to offer. Whether that be through an influencer’s post or another ad, the exposure of seeing your business’s supplement offer pop back up is warming them up to the idea that you’re familiar and they have a connection with you.

Through these ads, lead consumers back to your landing page for a specific supplement. Showcase the ingredients and supplemental facts. Then highlight similar products that are frequently bought together, and offer even more deals with bundles. Your landing page can be extremely basic but display the highlights customers care about:

  • What are the ingredients?
  • How do you use it?
  • Can we see people using it?
  • Can we see some reviews?
  • Where do I buy it?

How Sina Went From $0 to $50k/Month Using My ClickFunnels Dropshipping Course

Welcome back, Empire Builders! Today I’m going to go over the highlights of a recent interview I did with $50k Club student Sina Sinry and paraphrase our conversation for you. Here’s some of the wisdom he had to share with you guys about his approach, rise to success, and experience with my Clickfunnels dropshipping course. Let’s jump right in.

How and When Did You Get Started in Ecommerce?

Sina:

I started near the beginning of COVID-19 around May 2020. Shopify seemed interesting, but I didn’t know how to go about selling. I began with digital products as a fun hobby, and I was so excited when my first product sold for $9. (The same product now sells for $250.) Like many of the comments I see in the group, my focus was on finding that special, unique product that no one else was selling.

As time went on, though, I realized I was overthinking it. I just had to find something I could sell that I had an interest in or could market well. When I posted my profits, everyone wanted to know the secret. I told them I just took the class and followed it step by step. Find something that’s selling well and do a good job of marketing it. It’s that simple.

How Did You Go About Starting Your Current Business? What Was Your Inspiration and Process for Growth?

Screen grab of Peter Pru and Sina Sinry talking about niches

Sina:

A friend of mine actually suggested it. My friend, now partner, saw a product selling well and suggested we sell it. So, we did. I started watching free videos online and learning more. Then I took Ecommerce Empire Builder’s Clickfunnels dropshipping course, and I started really understanding how it works.

Until then, I would message other group members for advice on specific things and watch videos to find answers. I feel like you don’t have to wait until you fully understand the whole process. You can just jump in, get started, and learn as you go. You can’t wait for the perfect product and perfect time because that will never happen. It doesn’t exist. You learn more by doing and seeing it first-hand.

What Were Some Hurdles You’ve Overcome Along the Way?

Dropshipper taking a course to learn new skills

Sina:

Well, selling digital products is great because you buy the content, make it into a product once, and sell it dozens of times. There’s a big profit margin. Also, at first, I was solely focused on using Facebook ads, but there were issues and limits to what I could make. I realized I had to branch out to other social media platforms.

When it comes to ads, I found a lot of success using the Ecommerce Empire Builder strategy. I don’t use a long introduction or talk about my brand a lot. I go straight to what people care about. They want to know what the product does and how to get it. That really worked for me.

Another issue I had was being caught up on what other people sell. I saw one of the Ecommerce Empire Builder interviews, and I thought I had to find out what that guy sells and sell the same thing. That doesn’t work, though. I had to find what I could sell well and have success with. What worked for him wouldn’t be the same as what worked for me.

Another issue I had was payment portals. I couldn’t get my system to work with anything but PayPal. I didn’t let that be an excuse, though. Just with PayPal, I still made $50k a month. I just had to go through the Clickfunnels dropshipping course and follow the steps. I had to watch them a few times to understand how to make it work with digital projects. Actually, I think I watched through the Clickfunnels dropshipping course five times before I understood how to make it work for me. But I didn’t give up. I kept working at it, and now I’m successful.

What Is Your Marketing Strategy? Do You Have an Organic Strategy?

Sina:

I do a lot on Instagram. There’s a large audience there. One mistake I see a lot is people solely focusing on their product and making their Instagram all about what they sell. People get bored with that quickly, though. What I do is try to make my content funny and interesting — instead of just about the product — so people want to follow me. It’s all related to my niche, but I include memes and posts that people can engage with and enjoy. I use the same general strategy on YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.

Peter

I agree completely. We’ve had a lot of success with Instagram Reels and repurposing our TikTok content. You touched on a great point, though. If you don’t provide value, people won’t want to follow accounts just pushing products. It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in; providing content with value will make people stick around.

What Are Your Business Goals Moving Forward?

Screen grab of Peter Pru and Sina Sinry talking

Sina:

I’m branching out with more sites. I just started my second site and already have $12K gross sales. I’m in the same niche but selling a different product. At every stage, no matter what I’m doing, keeping the customer happy always leads to better results. So, moving forward, customer satisfaction is going to be a big focus, too.

I used to hear Ecommerce Empire Builders talk about the importance of email marketing and think, “No one even opens emails, so why bother?” Then I started using it, and it’s been working well. That will be part of my strategy moving forward as well.

Okay, Empire Builders, that’s all I’ve got for you today. Ecommerce Tips From Dropshipping Millionaires

2021 is a year stacking up to contain a lot of potential for the ecommerce industry. There are tons of opportunities for you to form the foundation of and scale your dropshipping business this year. I recently sat down with three of my ecommerce friends to discuss how 2020 Q4 performed, what went wrong, what went right, and what we learned. Ricky Hayes, Kamil Sattar, Shishir Nigam, and I are all members of The Dropshipping Council. This council is open to an exclusive group of dropshippers that have reached the $100,000 per month mark. We have all gone through ups and downs on our road to success and have some ecommerce tips and tricks to share with you to start building your own ecommerce empire. Read on to discover the key takeaways from our 2021 dropshipping masterclass.

Did 2020 Q4 Live up to the Hype?

With the emergence of COVID-19, the ecommerce industry saw new growth, as well as new struggles throughout 2020. There was a lot of hype in late 2020 about how Q4 would stack up for the industry. Many industry leaders predicted the biggest Q4 ecommerce has ever seen due to COVID-19 restrictions and the rise of ecommerce as a whole. However, for Ricky, Kamil, Shishir, and me, Q4 didn’t necessarily live up to all the hype.

So, why was Q4 such a letdown? The main reason for this letdown had to do with slow shipping times and supply shortages due to COVID-19. While some of us saw less in revenue but more in profit, Q4 was plagued with massive delays. Due to the shortages and slow shipping speeds, refunds were also at an all-time high during Q4. So while Q4 didn’t live up to the hype, it provided many useful lessons for us in the ecommerce industry.

What 2020 Q4 Taught Four Dropshipping Millionaires

Screen grab of Dropshipping Council discussing ecommerce tips

The number one takeaway from 2020 Q4 for four dropshipping millionaires is to focus on what’s in your control. None of us can control shipping speeds or supply shortages brought on by a global pandemic. However, we can control how we manage these situations and where we put our energy. The results of 2020 taught us all to focus our energy on only what we can control within our dropshipping businesses.

Placing energy on what you can control includes building assets for your ecommerce business that are in your control. Social media is great, but my 2020 experiences also taught me that it’s not an asset that is fully in my control. Instagram locked us out of one of our business accounts for over two weeks. This experience taught me to place more of my focus on building email lists and collecting phone numbers. Why? Because that is an asset that can’t be taken away. To grow these assets also requires a deep focus on creating great landing pages with compelling copy. All in all, always place your energy in aspects that are in your control. Your ecommerce business will be better served by following this principle.

2021 Ecommerce Tips

Screen grab of Peter Pru discussing how to drive customer action with the Dropshipping Council

Looking ahead at 2021, there are rising trends that every ecommerce dropshipper should be aware of as the year progresses. For Ricky, Kamil, Shishir, and I, the following are our top 2021 ecommerce tips for all aspiring dropshippers.

1. Digital Products Are a Must

If you haven’t tapped into the digital product market yet, 2021 is the time to do so. More than ever before, people have tons of time to get on their phones and consume an infinite amount of digital products.

A simple example of a niche digital product market is presets for photographers. Tons of people are getting into photography and editing as a hobby or side hustle. Selling presets is a great way to tap into this growing niche market. The great thing about digital products is that there are very few logistics to worry about. You aren’t sending out a physical product. This means you have no concerns about the slow shipping speeds or supply shortages that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought on.

At Ecommerce Empire Builders, we also love to mix digital products with physical products. This is definitely a concept you should consider incorporating into your own dropshipping business. There is a ton of psychology behind why this marketing strategy converts. You can read more about it in the book, Paid to Think

I’ve been using this model on my woodworking funnel and have been getting a ton of conversions by selling a woodworking tool and bundling it with a digital product that teaches the customer how to use their new tool. Remember, it’s one thing to sell someone a product, and it’s another to teach them how to use it. Overall, incorporating digital products into your 2021 ecommerce endeavors is our biggest ecommerce tip.

2. Get More Out of Each Sale

In 2021, you have to be getting more out of each sale if you want to grow your ecommerce business. To get more out of your customers and to stretch your revenue, you need to be utilizing upsells within your funnels. Simple upsells that make sense will transform your profit margins. Another way to get more out of your sales is by creating some sort of subscription service. This could be an exclusive digital members area or a monthly box subscription. Whatever model you choose, a subscription service has the potential to grow your ecommerce business by leaps and bounds.

3. Tap Into Customer Emotions

woman shopping online while staying home

The last of the ecommerce tips to really focus on in 2021 is to tap into customer emotions. On-demand printing has really taken off in the dropshipping industry. People love having personalized apparel, accessories, or other items. While on-demand printing is becoming a saturated marketplace, if you can find a niche that you can separate your business from others, you have a winning endeavor. Think about emotional angles when creating these types of businesses. If you can pull on the heartstrings with your product, you will be able to achieve a very high conversion rate.

Consult With the Pros

Now it’s time to get to work! I hope these ecommerce tips will help you as you navigate the evolving ecommerce industry throughout 2021. If you feel like you need more guidance with developing your mindset and growing your ecommerce business, feel free to reach out to us today. 3 Best Side Hustles to Make Money at Home in 2021

2020 had people shut down their businesses and stay at home. However, those in online hustles were at an advantage because money was still flowing into their pockets. Running an online business has proven that it can be more than just a luxury; it is now a necessity for supplementing your primary income source. So if you are wondering which side hustle is suitable for you to make money at home, here are the best suggestions to start in 2021 from the comfort of your home. I can testify they are ideal because I have been making money from them for the past ten years, and you can, too.

The great thing about these three side hustles I will discuss below is that they are complementary. You do not have to restrict yourself to one. You can work on them together and unlock multiple income sources; each of them will offer you a different revenue stream.

Ecommerce and Dropshipping

Peter Pru showing how to find and price items from AliExpress

Dropshipping remains my top choice for anyone looking to get started in an online business and make money at home. It entails having an online store that fulfills orders, but you don’t need a warehouse to store inventory. Instead, you get customers to make orders, which you pass on to a third-party supplier who then ships the order directly to the customer.

You are responsible for setting the selling price. Since you will incur the cost of marketing (in both time and money) to your customers, the final price is usually at a premium. One ideal example of a service that facilitates dropshipping is AliExpress

Pro Tip:

Once you create your online store, ensure that the prices you set are comparable with those on Amazon.

How Do You Ensure Customers Buy From Your Dropshipping Business?

You might start wondering why a customer would choose your new dropshipping business over Amazon when the prices are within the same range. You could reason that the customer has a history with Amazon they may want to keep. However, succeeding with a dropshipping business is about creating more value, not just delivering products.

The secret to having customers shop with you is to offer them digital products with their order. The best way to create more value for your products is by giving your customers PLR (Private Label Rights) products. You buy rights for PLR products to enable you to create or modify informational products within minutes, which you can then sell or bundle with physical goods and retain 100% of the profits.

PLR products come in various forms, including articles, video, graphics, ebooks, and more. So you are spoiled for choice with the kind of informational product you can create to bundle up with the dropshipping products. Of course, the PLR products you send with the ordered product have to be related. For example, say a customer orders a blackhead removal product. Then the PLR product you bundle it up with can be a video course or ebook in the skincare category.

The best policy for starting to make money at home is by being generous with information. If you know what would interest customers, give it to them either as a bonus or sell it. However, do not overwhelm your customers with information by sending lots of informational products at the same time. Two products bundled in with their orders will do.

Selling Digital Products

Once you get the gist of dropshipping and pairing physical products with informational products, you can easily complement that side hustle by selling digital products. Instead of just giving the products as bonuses, you can upsell them to your customer. Usually, you can combine at least five of the PLR products because you can already guess that the customer would be interested in them.

However, you cannot just rely on waiting until customers make orders to entice them to buy more of your digital products. You must diversify your marketing tools to include social media accounts and YouTube.

While being unique can gain you a competitive advantage, you do not want to be the first to sell a product. It is too risky. Therefore, check out what other companies are already selling by going to Udemy. By searching for ideas in the particular niche you want to pursue, you will find the top content creators. They can give you a rough idea of what consumers want.

Such research will enable you to create relevant course outlines for your video course, podcast, or whatever digital product you are interested in selling. You should, however, be careful not to plagiarize anyone’s content. Remember to always offer the customer the right information and good value for their money, regardless of how much you are charging for it.

Affiliate Marketing

Peter Pru showing viewers how to start affiliate marketing with ClickBank

Affiliate marketing provides a way to make money at home by driving traffic to other people’s sites. You earn a commission for each customer who visits the business you are promoting through your personalized link. The key to being a good affiliate marketer is to promote a product you like.

Let’s consider an example. Say you sell woodworking products but do not have time to make a video course promoting your tools. You can be an affiliate marketer for woodworking video courses. Since customers who purchase your products may like a woodworking course to show them how to use particular tools, you can promote one and still earn money from every customer who buys it.

Five Easy Digital Product Niches That Can Earn You Millions

Digital products are some of the best products to sell online if you want to maximize your earning potential. But many people who try to sell these products take the wrong approach. Selling digital products is considerably different from selling other types of products. But it all comes down to the specific digital product niches you want to target.

There are many ways you can use digital products to earn more money, whether you’re running an ecommerce business or affiliate marketing site. The key to succeeding with digital products is knowing how to produce, advertise, and sell them effectively within a specific niche. This article will help you get started selling digital products and earning millions of dollars with an effective strategy. The following are some examples of easy digital product niches worth pursuing.

1. Dog Training

Screen grab of how to search Udemy for digital product ideas

One of the most lucrative opportunities to sell digital products is in the dog training niche. Take a look at the topic “dog training” on Udemy, a site containing millions of free and paid courses. You’ll see thousands of courses that show how popular this niche is.

(On a side note: Udemy doesn’t always have the best courses worth selling. But it’s a great way to validate the niche you want to target and gauge its popularity. If you see hundreds or thousands of results when searching for your niche, this indicates that there’s a huge market for it.)

If you’re thinking about starting a dog training course, Udemy can show you what courses are out there. It also shows which specific topics and subtopics people like the most. From there, you have one of two approaches you can take to selling dog courses:

  1. You can make your own from scratch.
  2. You can repurpose content that’s already out there.

Repurposing Existing Dog Training Videos for Packaged Courses

Would you rather use content that’s already been produced and is ready to market and sell in a course? If so, then we recommend heading over to YouTube. There, you can search for dog training courses around the topics you want to cover. Now, you’ll likely find many channels with videos attracting millions of viewers, but these aren’t the ones we’re looking for. Instead, try to look for prolific channels that produce a lot of content but aren’t as popular. Channels with several hundred subscribers and many videos with thousands of views each can actually provide better opportunities for you than the biggest channels.

Once you find a channel you like, you can send them a message letting them know you like their content and asking them if they’d be willing to work with you. You can then offer them a chance to package their videos in a course, which you can market and sell to your audience in exchange for a commission sent to the producer. In the dog training niche, you’ll have no trouble finding content producers putting out plenty of videos that you can repackage and sell.

Using ThePLRStore.com for Other Types of Dog Training Content

If you want to sell content other than video, you can visit ThePLRStore.com to check out ebooks, articles, landing pages, and other course materials around dog training. On this site, there are plenty of pieces of content with private label rights (PLR). That means you can purchase this content, repurpose and rebrand it, and sell it as your own product. Simply buy a package of content at an affordable price, repackage it, and resell it for a profit.

2. Cryptocurrency

Another popular yet highly specific niche is the cryptocurrency space, which also provides plenty of opportunities. You won’t find as many courses on Udemy due to the specific nature of the niche. But it’s a very worthwhile space to target.

It’s important to keep in mind here that, like in other digital product niches, you should truly be good at what you do in the niche you target. If you plan on producing courses covering various cryptocurrency topics, for instance, you should know what you’re talking about. Otherwise, find people who have that expertise that you can lend to your digital product packages.

On ThePLRStore.com, you’ll have no trouble finding myriad digital products covering a wide range of cryptocurrency topics if you want to sell ebooks or other written content.

3. Meditation

Screen grab of looking for meditation digital products on ThePLRStore

Meditation has been — and remains — one of the best niches to target, with many viable opportunities. Like with other bigger digital product niches, it’s best not to target the most general meditation topics. Why? You’ll wind up competing with some of the largest competitors out there. However, you can target good subtopics that may be less competitive, giving you a chance to attract audiences looking for those specific topics. Many people are always looking for the best meditation techniques and classes, so you should have no trouble finding an audience here.

You can target specific forms of meditation, including particular techniques. Start small with these branching topics, and as your business grows, so can your topic coverage.

4. Weight Loss

Weight loss is always a popular, evergreen niche worth going after. There are always new strategies and products available to help people lose weight. Even better, that trend isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Weight loss is especially popular today, with so many people spending more time at home and struggling to maintain a healthy diet amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Again, your success in this niche will come down to the specific subtopics you cover in your content. Focus on narrower areas like  “weight loss for parents,” “weight loss for busy professionals,” or certain nutritional tips or workouts such as Zumba.

5. TikTok Marketing

Over the last couple of years, TikTok has been making waves as one of the fastest-rising social media platforms. As a result, many businesses seek opportunities to market to young TikTok audiences, making TikTok marketing one of the hottest digital product niches to target.

Many people are looking for topics about how best to market on TikTok, how to manage their accounts, and plenty of other areas you can easily capitalize on. We recommend you prove yourself to be an expert in this niche first, gaining some recognition as an authority on TikTok marketing on social media and other platforms before you go into offering a course and other digital products. While it might take some work, this niche is quickly becoming one of the best to pursue.

Start Your Ecommerce Empire

How One Entrepreneur Makes Over $1 Million a Year With Ecommerce and Info Product Marketing

It’s more than possible to make $1 million a year with ecommerce. Our 7-figure award winner Nehemiah Davis is one of many proving this. While his level of success may seem somewhat out of reach for you, the fact is that he started out small like every other entrepreneur. Nehemiah managed to build his own ecommerce empire through diligence and patience, which you can also achieve. Here, we’ll explore Nehemiah’s story and journey. We’ll also show you how you, too, can build yourself up to experience this kind of success.

Nehemiah’s Humble Beginnings

Nehemiah Davis’s story is one of impressive success with plenty to show for it, from the enviable lifestyle flying on private jets to driving Lambos. But it took hard work to make it to over $1 million a year with ecommerce. Growing up in West Philly, Nehemiah was raised by a hard-working single mother. Her goal was to give her son the best life possible with the money she had. As a result, Nehemiah received a better education that exposed him to new ways of thinking. He says this was the big game-changer in his life.

Nehemiah attended Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, where he saw firsthand the lifestyle that other students were living, like driving Bentleys and living in mansions with pool houses. It was another world compared to the impoverished neighborhood he knew. It opened his eyes to the possibilities available to him. After struggling academically but ultimately succeeding, he attended college and entered the workforce, working everywhere from his college to McDonald’s.

His job at private airport Atlantic Aviation would direct him toward the next chapter in his life. Long before he would enjoy flying private jets and sharing those rides on Instagram, Nehemiah worked emptying waste from their bathrooms. While the work was menial at best, Nehemiah saw the lifestyle of the millionaires going in and out of Atlantic. He realized the kind of success that was possible. His dreams weren’t without adversity, as people attempted to deter him. But it was the naysayers who fueled his drive even more.

Fast-forward to another job operating his first food truck, and he started the grind that would lead him to succeed. His annual profit? $20. But he kept pushing and worked to better himself and advance his career. He tackled nearly every industry out there, scrambling to make ends meet. Eventually, the combination of effort and choosing not to listen to the negative helped him excel.

The Rise to Success and Continued Exposure to New Ideas

Screengrab of Nehemiah Davis discussing how to grow a business

Like many successful people, Nehemiah is a firm believer in developing yourself and your mind if you want to succeed. So much of success depends on the mindset that you have. If you have a negative mindset and you give up on your dreams easily, then that’s going to be what holds you back. So surround yourself with inspiring people and concepts. Then, you can rise to the challenges you’ll inevitably face, which is precisely what Nehemiah did to get where he is today.

Over time, Nehemiah built on his personal brand. He got into digital marketing, affiliate marketing, and many other areas that helped him develop his own empire. It wasn’t easy, and there was a lot of work and persistence involved. But he was able to make it after working at it and expanding his reach.

Using Sales Funnels to Reach Over $1 Million a Year With Ecommerce

One of the biggest sources of Nehemiah’s success was the use of sales funnels, which he hadn’t learned about until well into his business ventures. Upon being exposed to the idea of using sales funnels, he was able to optimize his digital marketing efforts and increase sales dramatically. He didn’t just learn the value of sales funnels. He also incorporated his lessons into his own funnel by offering an ebook detailing their value.

Today, he has fully utilized sales funnel as a core part of his business model, collecting information from leads through his websites and social media from the start. As a result, he’s been able to bring people into the sales funnel immediately. He’s also been able to upsell those customers and keep them coming back. Nehemiah discovered that, through sales funnels and upsells, people are willing to spend as much as several hundred extra dollars than they originally intended. People will buy as long as the value is worth it. This enabled him to see extraordinary success with ecommerce as he maximized his average cart value.

Incorporating Social Media to Build an Online Presence and Reach Over $1 Million a Year With Ecommerce

Screengrab of Nehemiah Davis and Peter Pru talking

Nehemiah has also experienced notable success on social media more than just about any other channel, getting most of his traffic through Instagram and other social media platforms. One of the reasons for this was his tendency to give back to the community as an entrepreneur. He held charity events giving gifts to children, giving food and clothing to the homeless, and performing many other giveaways to contribute to his community. Due to his charitable nature, he began getting featured on social media. This led to a more developed presence on this channel. His contributions and publicized features on Instagram made it easier for him to establish a verified account. The lesson here is that the more you build on yourself and your brand early on, the easier it will make your later successes.

An example of how Nehemiah is making his digital marketing efforts work is how he operates in the front and backend. Nehemiah hooks his audience from Instagram and encourages them to purchase his ebook, for example. In addition to this ebook, he’s also resourceful enough to repurpose other marketing materials to upgrade that purchase. In this case, he directs people to a webinar from that ebook, so 10% of people who buy the ebook also pay for and attend the webinar. Many instances like this have helped him stay consistently on top. If he finds something that he can repurpose and sell, he sells it.

With sales funnels, a thriving social media presence, and an unbeatable drive, Nehemiah has continued to grow his business. Recently, he’s seen the kind of earnings that he used to dream about at over $1 million a year with ecommerce.

Building a Social Media Presence From Scratch

Nehemiah may have gotten his start in social media from a more unconventional access point. But he still understands the value of diligence on these platforms when just starting out. When it comes to establishing a social media presence, Nehemiah recommends consistency above all.

Post at least once a day if you want to grow your audience and build your brand. You should also make sure your social media posts have specific and clear calls to action (CTAs). That includes directions to like, share, comment, follow, or subscribe.

It’s also important to establish yourself as a topical authority if you want to appeal to a specific audience. Pick an area of expertise that fits you, and showcase your own expertise on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms. As you begin to develop a reputation as the number-one authority on a given topic and bring unbeatable value to your audiences, you can build trust among new audiences and inspire them to follow you.

The Importance of Finding a Purpose and Working for It

Confident entrpreneur working on her business

One of the big motivators that helped propel Nehemiah was finding a purpose. Every day he wakes up, he knows he has to provide for his wife, daughter, and even his mother and other family members who are working within his companies. At the same time, Nehemiah understands that what you feed your mind is what will influence your mindset. If you allow negativity to penetrate, your worldview will be shaped accordingly, which will keep you from moving forward. Instead, you have to feed your mind with positivity and developmental ideas that allow you to grow.

Even if you’re struggling and finding that things simply aren’t working the way you’d hoped, Nehemiah is an example of persistence paying off. Don’t simply give up if you’re facing hardships. Instead, work through them, and you’ll be able to overcome the obstacles that may initially seem impossible to get around. Expose yourself to new ideas and new solutions. Find a purpose that gives you a reason to keep going and inspires you. Also, encourage yourself to get through the difficulties while ignoring the naysayers.

The harder you work at it and the more drive you have, the better you’ll be at turning those dreams into a reality. It can and does take years to achieve. But it will be worth it if you keep at it and stay on the right course.

Take This Full FREE Ecommerce Dropshipping Course on Using Sales Funnels

Welcome back, Empire Builders! This time I have something truly special in store for you. I finally sat down and created an entire ecommerce dropshipping course on using sales funnels to multiply your profits. The FREE video course walks you through every step of the process, and I even gave away the exact sales funnel I used in the course — also completely FREE. I want to make sure this in-depth training reaches and helps as many people as possible, so I’m going to be sharing some of the most important points here, as well. Are you ready to learn how to build out an entire profitable ecommerce subscription sales funnel? Then let’s jump right in!

Niches

The foundation you’ll build your business on is your niche, which is why it’s a key focus in my ecommerce dropshipping course. Your niche is the target market you’ll sell to. The more specific, the better. Going broad theoretically gives you more possible customers, but it also means more competition and less reason for them to pick you. If you go very narrow, your target market will see a product made with them in mind and be drawn to it.

Choose Your Niche

I always recommend time-tested hobby niches because they’re filled with passionate customers, and new ones are always joining. Wikipedia has a great list for reference. Preferably, pick one of your own hobbies. If you have a passion for your niche, it will drive success in your business and motivate you to stick with it. Using Google Trends, verify that your chosen niche is popular (over the 25-point line) and time-tested by viewing that search term over five years.

Validate Your Niche

Search it on Amazon. Make sure there are many different sellers and brands. Too much brand loyalty means less market share for other sellers. Then check some of those seller ranks in the top category to make sure the number is lower than 20,000. Next, Google the niche and search some of those businesses in the Facebook Ad Library to see if they’re profitable enough to advertise. Also, see if there’s YouTube content and social media influencers for your niche. Following them could give you an edge moving forward.

Offer

Screengrab of Peter Pru discussing the importance of digital products

Your offer is the product you’re selling that makes you stand out. You need to give them a reason to buy from you instead of the competition. I recommend bundling physical and digital products, and this ecommerce dropshipping course covers both options. This increases the perceived value and provides a quick win for the customer. In bass fishing, this could be selling lures alongside a PDF on how to use them. In knitting, this might be yarn and a how-to guide for different stitches.

Crafting Your Offer

The best place to start is to sell things people are already buying. Use Amazon to find potential products, and next, use AliExpress to find a good supplier. Then move on to digital products. Again, leverage data from Amazon. Type in your niche and use the department filter to isolate books. See if people are consuming information in the niche and use popular books’ table of contents to see what information they value. Pick a few problem-solving topics to sell information products on. Use the PLR Store to buy the rights to premade digital products on those subjects.

Sales Funnel

Sales funnels are tools that guide customers through each step of the buying process to increase profit and scalability. It uses simplicity to capture attention, build your email list, make sales, upsell, and offer subscriptions. Each of those steps is so important because:

  • Your email list brings in constant value.
  • Funnels create five times the sales.
  • Upsells increase average cart value.
  • Subscriptions increase customer lifetime value.

Building Your Funnel

The funnel I gave away in the ecommerce dropshipping course is prebuilt, and the template is proven to convert, so you just have to customize it. Add quality images, relevant text, and your specific offers. Click Funnels makes it easy to change every element. They also provide you with other powerful tools. You can manage your email marketing right from this account. If someone provides their email but doesn’t buy, starts the process but doesn’t finish checking out, or buys your offer but not your upsells, you can set your account to send out emails for each scenario automatically.

Traffic

Traffic consists of the people visiting your site. This traffic can be paid or organic. Cold traffic is people who know nothing about your brand or product. Warm traffic is people with an interest or a prior relationship like those who find you on Google or consume content you create, and hot traffic is previous customers. Organic traffic tends to be warm traffic, but it takes a lot of time and steady content creation. Paid traffic, on the other hand, gets more immediate results. Paid traffic consists of ads and influencer marketing.

Influencer Advertising

Screengrab of Peter Pru walking through how to evaluate influencers

Influencers are a great way to get your products in front of the right audience. Check out YouTube and see who’s popular in your niche. Check their subscribers and followers on Instagram using IG Blade and make sure they’re growing.

You can approach them about doing a post on Instagram, which tends to be cheaper but also short-lived. Alternatively, send them a product to review, and that video lasts forever. Just approach them with the goal of building a relationship and trust, not just paying for their endorsement, because their audience needs to trust them, as well. That’s why working with them is valuable.

Facebook Advertising

Facebook values user experience above all. They also value profit, for both themselves and for you. If you focus on creating ads that add to the user experience, they’ll want to keep working with you. Facebook ads do bring in traffic quickly, but over time, the results get better. The Pixel they use to gather data from your site will learn about your customers and get better at sending you the best traffic.

How to Protect Payment Gateways for Your Dropshipping Business

Empire builders, you already know that there is a lot to learn when it comes to starting your own ecommerce business. One of the things I had to learn the hard way was the importance of having multiple payment gateways available for a dropshipping business. Many dropshippers, myself included, have gotten their Stripe or PayPal accounts shut down and have been left with no way to accept payments from customers. Through trial and error, I have picked up some tips for how to protect payment gateways. Read on to learn how to avoid getting your payment accounts suspended, as well as what to do should you ever find yourself in this situation.

Backup Plans Are Key in Business, Especially to Protect Payment Gateways

If you’re new to dropshipping, I’m not here to scare you. What I am here to do is to prepare you for the hiccups that happen in business.

Starting your own dropshipping business comes with some risk. One risk is having your PayPal or Stripe account shutdown. This has happened to tons of dropshippers before you, all for various reasons. These things happen. However, expecting these hiccups isn’t quite enough. You also need to make a plan of action on handling these situations before they actually arise. You can’t just close up shop when things don’t go your way. Running a successful dropshipping business will require you to develop creative solutions to make things work over time. You always want a backup plan in place.

When I started out dropshipping, I wish someone would have told me the importance of having a backup plan to protect payment gateways when it came to accepting payments from customers. When I first started using Stripe, I thought I would never get shut down or banned. I played by the rules and had no worries. But if you think something could never happen to you, think again.

One too many chargeback or refunds, and then poof, there goes your account. Just imagine that you’re finally making $100,000 a month, and then your payment processing account gets shut down. You never set up a backup account, so you’re instantly losing thousands of dollars for your business. This would be devastating. Don’t let this happen to your business. Always have backup plans in place to protect payment gateways for your payment processing.

Every Dropshipper Needs a Stripe and a PayPal Account

Screen grab of discussing the benefits of Stripe

Even though we’ve all heard the horror stories of Stripe and PayPal accounts being shut down or suspended, I still recommend that every dropshipper have a Stripe and PayPal account set up for their business. Stripe is simply the best payment processor for any dropshipper to get started with. At Ecommerce Empire Builders, we use Stripe for every funnel we set up. While any Stripe account can get suspended, the platform still provides many perks.

The Benefits of Stripe

Stripe is incredibly easy to set up, and you can start accepting payments from customers in just a few minutes. When I first got started in ecommerce, setting up a payment processor was not this easy. You used to have to go through large amounts of paperwork and legal work to simply get your ecommerce store off the ground. When Stripe came into the picture, the ecommerce world was made a lot simpler.

However, Stripe will always have its brand and its best interest in mind. So when your account starts getting too high of a refund or chargeback rate, your account will be shut down. If you play by the rules, your account will most likely remain secure. However, things come up even when you play by their rules. So having a second payment processor setup is key.

The Benefits of PayPal

After you have your Stripe account setup, go ahead and make a PayPal account as your first backup method. Stripe and PayPal are simply the best payment gateways for any beginner in the dropshipping industry to get started with. Both platforms are incredibly simple and quick to set up. Just like Stripe, PayPal has rules you must adhere to. When your dispute percentages reach a high rate, your PayPal account will most likely have a hold placed on it.

When this occurs, you’re going to want to have another payment processor readily available to your business. This is when knowing about alternative merchant accounts becomes important.

Great Alternative Merchant Accounts for Dropshippers

Screen grab of discussing the benefits of Easy Pay Direct

While you could simply bypass Stripe and PayPal and go straight to the alternative merchant accounts, that wouldn’t be my first suggestion. Both Stripe and PayPal are extremely user-friendly and quick to set up. They allow every new dropshipper to start accepting payments almost instantly. For these reasons, I would always set up a Stripe and PayPal account and then look into setting up alternative merchant accounts. The two alternative payment gateways that I have found success with are Easy Pay Direct and Gateway Funnel Pros

Easy Pay Direct

Easy Pay Direct is a great alternative payment gateway for established dropshippers who want more options to protect payment gateways for their businesses. Think of a payment gateway as a dashboard. Within this dashboard, there are a number of different merchant accounts available for you to use. Essentially, when you sign up with Easy Pay Direct or any other payment gateway, they can help you open multiple merchant accounts that will allow you to accept payment from customers. So, if one account gets shut down, you can easily and efficiently open another one without slowing down your sales.

Keep in mind that with Easy Pay Direct, you will need to be making a decent amount of money with your business and have some sales history before they approve your account. But once your business is built up and you’re generating a fair amount of income, having merchant accounts through Easy Pay Direct is a must.

Gateway Funnel Pros

For those of you just starting out but who still wanting to set up alternative merchant accounts, Gateway Funnel Pros is the way to go. Gateway Funnel Pros will work with new dropshippers and will help with setting up an NMI account. Just like any payment gateway, Gateway Funnel Pros will be able to help you set up multiple merchant accounts for your business under a single gateway.

Regardless of which route you choose, I can’t stress to you enough the importance of having multiple backup plans in place to protect payment gateways for your overall business.

How to Become a Full-Time Dropshipper and Quit Your Job

If you develop a successful dropshipping business, it’s possible to quit your job and become a full-time dropshipper. Here, we’ll tell you some of the steps you’ll need to take if you want to make dropshipping a rewarding career. Dropshipping can entail a lot of effort. But it will be well worth it as you watch your salary grow and start experiencing the success you’ve worked so hard to achieve.

What Salary Level Should You Hit to Become a Full-Time Dropshipper?

According to some numbers from MSNBC, the average salary for various age groups from around 2018 to 2019, regardless of occupation, were as follows:

  • 16-19 years: $422/week, $21,944/year
  • 20-24 years: $525/week, $27,300/year
  • 25-34 years: $776/week, $40,352/year
  • 35-44 years: $976/week, $50,752/year
  • 45-54 years: $975/week, $50,700/year
  • 55-64 years: $966/week, $50,232/year
  • 65 years and older: $904/week, $47,008/year

Based on these numbers, we’re going to use a baseline of $50,000 annually. If you can make that much every year, you’ll do well for yourself without the need for a full-time job, especially if you’re just getting started on growing your own business instead of slaving for another company’s success.

Sure, your first instinct might be to aim higher than $50,000 per year, with six or seven figures in your mind as the ideal achievement. However, it’s important to be practical and start small. We suggest you focus first on making dropshipping a full-time job, which $50,000 per year will enable you to do.

How to Achieve That $50,000 Goal and Become a Full-Time Dropshipper

With that end goal in mind, assume that you’ll need 20 percent margins and $250,000 in revenue. 20 percent might seem a little low, but this is in line with the more realistic end goal and can keep you from aiming too high from the start. With these goals, you’ll also allow yourself more room for error. You’ll need that space to correct for missteps as you learn what works and what doesn’t.

Target $250,000 in Annual Revenue

screen grab of good revenue and income goals for a starting dropshipping business

To start off, if you want to get to the point where you’re making $50,000 every year through dropshipping, you will need to aim for a revenue of around $250,000 per year. That goal might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but as you break it down like with every other goal, you’ll see how achievable it actually is

Based on the target revenue of $250,000 annually, we can calculate the total amount we’ll need to earn every day, which comes to $684.93. Even that smaller number may intimidate you if that seems like a lot to work for on a daily basis. But this is entirely doable if you have the right systems in place.

The key here will be to develop an efficacious sales funnel that helps you:

  • Attract customers
  • Upsell orders
  • Obtain subscriptions for recurring sale
  • Maximize your customers’ lifetime value
screen grab of daily sales goals to achieve $50,000 in income a year

Ultimately, your average cart value should be around $20. Based on our daily goal, you’ll need to try to make around 34 sales per day. Again, that might seem like a lot of sales you need to make. There are also product costs and other expenses associated with those sales. But you can achieve that goal if you focus on increasing the average cart value as opposed to the number of overall sales.

Focus on Increasing the Value of Each Sale with Upsells

To begin moving toward that goal of 34 sales and $684.93 per day, let’s consider how that might be far more achievable if we increase the average cart value from $20 to $30. You might be wondering how that’s even possible beyond simply raising the price of your products. But the key is to increase the number of upsells.

For instance, a customer might be interested in buying a product such as a high-quality pen for $20. You could sell a complementary product like a premium notebook at a discounted price of, say, $15. This is perfect because this encourages the use of the first product and reinforces the customer’s decision to buy the pen. Together, both that pen and notebook would make up a cart value of $35.

Now, not every cart will be worth $30 or more through upselling. Not everyone will take you up on the upsell offers. At the same time, enough people could purchase those products and upsells to help raise the average cart value to $30 or more. In turn, you will need to make fewer sales per day, which puts less pressure on you.

Find Out What Your Niche Wants and Create Enticing Upsells

desk full of stylized items that can be upsell or repeat purchase ideas for dropshipping customers

You can make the most of each sale with ample upsells. These offers encourage the customer to spend more money on each purchase. If you’re worried about running out of ideas for upsells that might be exciting for your customers, then you may need to spend some more time learning your niche before you decide to become a full-time dropshipper. Try to figure out what your customers want and need.

Consider ways to address certain pain points that your customers might have, which your products can relieve. Certain accessories that complement your main products can save customers time and money. For example, for optimal convenience, you may want to include a protective case or a sleeve for that $20 pen, which helps customers complete a package that also includes that $15 notebook. Including these high-quality upsells can help you maximize that cart value so you can boost the average and, subsequently, reduce the amount of average daily sales you need to make.

By implementing a good sales funnel with plenty of upsells that your customers will want, you’ll be well on your way to hitting that $50,000-per-year goal. Then you can quit your job and comfortably become a full-time dropshipper. As your income begins to exceed that goal, you’ll see why dropshipping is worth the time and effort.

How to Make $10,000 a Month With an Automated Dropshipping Business

Empire builders, have you been looking for a way to get into ecommerce without having to invest a ton of time? While all great things in life take a great deal of hard work and diligence, there are ways to get into the ecommerce industry without being very hands-on. Start learning everything you need to know about having an automated dropshipping business today.

Is Automated Dropshipping Even Possible?

I have been in this space for a while now, and I know that there is a ton of opportunity within the ecommerce industry. There are various ways to get involved in the ecommerce space, but is an automated dropshipping store actually profitable?

The answer to this question is a resounding, yes

Through automating your ecommerce business, it is possible to generate $10,000 every month while your store is essentially on autopilot. So, you might be wondering, if automating dropshipping is actually possible, how do you do it? Don’t worry. I’m about to let you in on all the best secrets.

It’s About Asking the Right Questions

screen grab of the two dropshipper mindsets: involvement and investment

Before you start the process of automating your dropshipping business, you have to ask yourself some questions. Essentially, there are two ways you run can your automated dropshipping business. The first is through a more involved approach, and the second is through a more hands-off approach. To decide which method is for you, ask yourself these two questions.

  1. How involved do I want to be in the business?
  2. Do I want to treat this as an investment opportunity?

What to Expect from an Automated Dropshipping Business

If you don’t want to be hands-on with your business, then think of this as simply another investment opportunity for yourself. If you don’t want to be hands-on, that’s fine. You can still easily generate $10,000 in sales once your sales funnel is built out and automated. You may love your day job and just want the opportunity to create a little side hustle. That’s fantastic.

However, without hands-on involvement in your dropshipping business, you will experience a plateau. The ability to reach that seven to eight-figure sales level can really only be achieved through steady involvement in the business. Automation is still possible through a hands-on approach. But your time will be spent on branding, sourcing, and building teams to scale the business.

There is nothing wrong with either of these two strategies. However, you need to weigh the pros and cons of each approach and decide which will fit your plans, goals, and busy schedule best.

How Ecommerce Empire Builders Can Help

At Ecommerce Empire Builders, we build funnels out for our clients that run on autopilot. We also manage everything that has to do with the funnel. For these hands-off type of clients, having an ecommerce business is simply another investment strategy. They pay us to keep their store running and, in the process, generate thousands of dollars of revenue each month.

However, most of the clients we work with at Ecommerce Empire Builders like to have a hand in their business. I would say out of all the clients we work with, about 80% like to be involved in the business. Ultimately, no matter what strategy you go with, there is a way to automate your dropshipping business.

Setting Up Your Automated Dropshipping Business in Four Steps

screen grab of the four key steps for setting up an automated dropshipping business

If you’re trying to set up an automated dropshipping store on your own, I have some tips to share. Keep in mind that you need to think about beyond the here and now when creating an automated store. This store should still be able to generate revenue years into the future. It’s futile to automate a store that has no promise of longevity. The four steps below have been my recipe for success in creating a profitable automated dropshipping business.

1. Identify Your Niche

The first step of any ecommerce business is to identify your niche. When you’re selecting your niche, it needs to be passion-based. Don’t try to jump on trends that may or may not be here in the next five years. Do your market research — find hobbies or niches that people have been involved with and will continue to be involved with. The best advice I have for you is to go into a niche that you’re not only passionate about, but that has also stood the test of time.

2. Build Out Your Funnel

After selecting your niche, it’s time to create an evergreen product offer and build out your funnel with a simple subscription feature. Creating an evergreen offer means you’re looking for a product and unique offer that is going to have an appeal both today and years down the line

The key to building a profitable automated funnel is having an excellent evergreen offer. So create an offer that will always be appealing to newcomers in the niche or hobby.

3. Send Traffic to Your Store

After your funnel is built out with the automated subscription feature available, you need to start driving traffic to your sales funnel. The most efficient way to attract traffic to an automated funnel is through Facebook ads. The copy and creativity in these ads need to be evergreen, meaning that they will continually appeal to customers.

4. Automate Your Fulfillment

The final step in creating your automated dropshipping business is putting automated fulfillment into place. If you’re going into this alone, then you need to invest in automated tools like Dropton.

If you’re looking to or have the means to have help running your business, I would also hire a virtual assistant. I like to use a blend of both automated tools and support from virtual assistants to keep the orders filled without any hiccups. Hiring a virtual assistant is an excellent investment. You can hire them for cheap, and they will oversee all of your customer service and order fulfillment. Having a virtual assistant to manage these elements is nice because it also gives you more time to focus on other tasks like building funnels and scaling your business.

Consult With the Pros

student learning how to build both a hands-on business and an automated dropshipping business

I dropped a lot of knowledge on you today, and I hope you can use some of it to create your own profitable automated dropshipping business. With everything being said, the key takeaway when creating an automated dropshipping business is to go into an evergreen niche and create an evergreen offer. There will always be people coming and going into different niches. To stay profitable, the evergreen offer you come up with has to be exciting now and in the future.
