ClickFunnels 2.0 Released — And There’s Just Not Much There

We know our Empire Builders have been eager to see what’s in store for ClickFunnels 2.0, and we’re here with an overview. Unfortunately, there’s not much to see, as not a lot has changed. Despite pressure from users, ClickFunnels did not lower their pricing — which, as of December 2022, stands at:

  • Basic: $147/mo
  • Pro: $197/mo
  • Funnel Hacker: $297/mo

What’s New in ClickFunnels 2.0?

With the exact same prices that were already pain points for most users, how does the new ClickFunnels release stack up in terms of features and usability? We’ll start with a breakdown of the ClickFunnels 2.0 membership tiers.

Basic Plan

The basic membership gives you one website with 20 funnels, one admin user, and one domain. It also comes with three “courses” (which are not ClickFunnels training resources but are instead courses for the user to host on the platform). These courses only come with 1,000 students — only enough for low-ticket items, like free promotional courses.

You also get only 10,000 contacts and “basic analytics.” The latter is a huge disappointment. The following features, at least, are unlimited:

  • Workflows
  • Pages
  • Products
  • Email sequences

All in all, it doesn’t make much sense for approximately $150 a month.

Pro Plan

Peter Pru discussing plan options for ClickFunnels 2.0

The ClickFunnels Pro plan still only gives you a single website. Funnels jump to 100, and you’re allotted five admin users, three domains, 15 courses, and 10,000 students. Contacts remain quite limited at only 20,000, and you get the same four unlimited features as in the Basic membership. The analytics for the Pro plan are also exactly the same as you get with the Basic membership!

If you wanted to help people be successful on your platform, wouldn’t you want them to have the best analytical tools? In our opinion, all ClickFunnels users need to be able to look at their funnel stats to improve decision-making and know how to tweak their funnels. Instead, good analytics are being used as a selling point.

Users should have the best analytics as they grow, which would help them learn new sales funnel strategies and ascend more naturally. You’d think ClickFunnels would want that because then their users will increasingly need more websites and funnels as their talent improves. Instead, users only get high-quality analytics after they’ve probably already mastered the skills analytics would have helped them learn faster. Holding out on high-quality analytics seems like it only hinders users’ success and growth.

New features on the Pro accounts include:

  • Affiliate program
  • API access
  • ShareFunnels (previously only in the top-tier plan)
  • Liquid theme editor
  • CF1 Maintenance Mode plan

ShareFunnels

Moving ShareFunnels down a plan is a welcome change and created a bit of a buzz — but it’s not a strong selling point. While I’ve been one of the biggest supporters of ClickFunnels and one of their top affiliates for a while, I’ve also been hoping they would make some of these “top-tier” features more accessible at the lower levels. That’s where they would actually do some major good for users.

ShareFunnels drove every single affiliate sale of mine. But now, ClickFunnels is milking a little more money from their affiliates. The affiliates are being screwed over a bit because ClickFunnels knows the ShareFunnels link is the most powerful affiliate-generating feature.

Once you’ve built a beautiful funnel you’re proud of, you’ll naturally want to share it with others and use it to earn affiliate commissions. Well, that’s a privilege that requires being on the $200/month plan. Like the analytics, ShareFunnels should be all the way down on the Basic plan — which, for what it is, shouldn’t even be $150.

Hard Decisions for New Business Owners

You’d probably be better off just using sales funnels on Shopify and bundling Zipify instead. The main thing is that these are brand-new business owners, just starting an online business, and $150 is a lot for basic features. When their operations start picking up after a month or two, they’ll be locked in and require an upgrade. It’s just like Shopify, where it’s, “Start your own business! For just $30, you can change your whole life!!”

No, it’s not, and you won’t. You won’t even be able to build a functional website for that, and there are easier ways to make money without a website. These kinds of arrangements attract people who don’t know what they’re getting into yet. They don’t realize how much actually goes into running their store, how many apps they’ll need, etc. Then, it starts piling up as they become inundated with add-ons and apps (and bills) they didn’t know they required until it’s too late.

It’s the same thing with ClickFunnels. You’ll need at least the $197 or $297 plan, and it’s most likely the latter because you need the analytics; looking at your stats to make better-informed decisions is the most important part of eCommerce. Shopify also becomes way more expensive once you’re already involved, at which point you’ll need tons of other apps to build a functioning, profitable website.

It just seems crazy to keep such fundamental things out of reach while using basic, fundamental features as selling points.

Funnel Hacker Plan

For $300, ClickFunnels gives you three websites and unlimited funnels. You also get 15 admin users (why are admin users included in offer stacks, anyway?), nine domains (which seems random), and marginal increases elsewhere. While you do get 200 courses, that only come with a capacity of 20,000 students — which is absolutely nothing. People just coming into this don’t realize 20,000 students is hardly anything, especially when using a funnel to sell higher-priced items.

Finally, they give you their advanced analytics. The Funnel Hacker plan also comes with the same Pro account features listed above, and…. that’s it! That’s all they’re going with.

Out of all my connections in this community, the people I’ve seen promoting this are only pushing their affiliate links. I don’t think they’re actually using ClickFunnels 2.0, but who knows?

Lastly, you get a bit of a discount if you make an annual payment.

Community Feedback

Peter Pru discussing the recent release of ClickFunnels 2.0 and analyzing the value

There were some insightful comments about ClickFunnels 2.0, including speculation that ClickFunnels is trying to increase valuation and sell to private equity. We thought that at first, too. But now, I think they just want fewer customers at a higher price point. But I don’t see why people would get into ClickFunnels right now.

Besides the whole “culture” behind it, there really isn’t a reason to join ClickFunnels 2.0 — and if ClickFunnels took their product to Silicon Valley investors, they would absolutely be laughed at. It’s just not good compared to Shopify or almost any other online sales platform. They spend so much time selling courses, coaching, “masterminds,” and all this other stuff… Why don’t they just spend that time building better software?

That said, I’m still a huge supporter of ClickFunnels 1.0. Many people have been using ClickFunnels 1.0 and will keep using it. I’ll probably never cancel my ClickFunnels account because it has so many memories for me, and we’ve created tons of ClickFunnels training and templates (including a template specific to high-ticket products). I think a lot of people are going to stay on ClickFunnels 1.0 rather than upgrade.

With software such a commodity now, you have to compete on price, and people are still very upset about ClickFunnels 2.0 prices. It feels like they’re doing nothing in the interest of helping newcomers sell more easily, especially with so many new online sellers just starting out.

Naturally, people are asking what better alternatives exist. Personally, we like StoreFunnels.net. For $69/month, you can build stores and funnels. Also, they support email marketing fully in-platform. We get a lot of support from Store Funnels users.

Final Thoughts on ClickFunnels 2.0

How Using Dropshipping Funnels Helped Our Student Earn $50k per Month

One of our students, Leo Batistella, managed to go from $0 to $50,000 per month by using dropshipping funnels, along with other winning strategies. Leo has built several successful dropshipping businesses that hit the $50k mark. Here we’ll go over the steps he took to scale his businesses so quickly. We’ll also explore how he started dropshipping and his gradual journey to success.

Pursuing His Own Dreams of Success Online

Originally from Brazil, Leo moved to the United States to develop his own success story here. His story begins like many others: working a full-time job in which he was building someone else’s dream. Becoming disillusioned with this around two years ago, Leo was determined to start his own online business that would specifically be online.

The day that he made this determination, he quit his job. With enough savings to get by in the meantime, he immediately started studying. Beginning with little information around eCommerce and dropshipping, Leo worked quickly to educate and equip himself with the knowledge needed to successfully start his business.

Leo lost money for the first six months of his endeavor. But he understood that this was part of the learning process and stuck with it. He pushed himself, working 12- to 14-hour days to build his business. The key motivating factor for Leo was the fact that he knew several successful dropshippers pulling in $50k per month in his network. This, coupled with the certainty that he could do as well as or even better than those examples, motivated him.

Searching for the Right Resources and the Right Product

Leo and Peter Pru discussing Leo's business successes

Although Leo personally knew multiple successful entrepreneurs in his network, they didn’t provide him with any helpful guidance. Instead, Leo turned to external resources to learn everything he could about dropshipping. At the same time, he didn’t know who to learn from — so many gurus out there are seeking the spotlight. Leo also had a language barrier to contend with, as he preferred to learn from people who spoke Portuguese. Subsequently, he began seeking guidance from professionals in his native Brazil, only to find that most dropshippers in Brazil only conducted business in Brazil.

Additionally, Leo sought the ideal product that would help him go from losses to profits. The solution would come as a surprise while spending time in Las Vegas. While in Vegas for New Year’s Eve, Leo discovered a product that most wouldn’t think to sell from the start: emergency urine bottles. In addition to a version for men, he sold another version for women as an upsell, finding that the product to be an unexpected winner. He eventually gained $40k in sales.

Leo reveled in his success with this hit product. But then the pandemic hit, and he was uncertain about his future. While at a party, he met an entrepreneur who saw success in manufacturing and was trying to market face shields, which weren’t yet widely used in the U.S. Because of Leo’s experience in B2C sales, this entrepreneur asked Leo to sell his products, which saw a quarter million in sales within a week. Leo wasn’t used to this level of success. So he sought help from both the entrepreneur behind these masks and his mentor in Brazil, the latter of whom would become Leo’s partner.

Discovering Ecommerce Empire Builders and the Key to Long-Term Success

Leo and Peter Pru discussing the importance of consistency

Leo may have seen success with his initial ventures. But he was still experiencing certain frustrations when it came to upsells and establishing long-term success. As he attempted to learn more, he continued seeking out thought leaders he could trust. Eventually, he would come across us and a couple of other personalities he deemed worth following.

What drew him to our team at Ecommerce Empire Builders was a combination of ample resources, helpful guidance, and consistency. Willing to commit, Leo purchased our course and signed up for Clickfunnels. This would further lead him to the long-term success he’d always wanted. By taking our course and using dropshipping funnels, Leo began seeing the upsells he wanted. He also started making significant profits, raking in as much as $8,000 within a 15-day period.

Using Dropshipping Funnels

Leo first started using dropshipping funnels in February. He developed his funnel after seeing a Facebook ad for a product that caught his eye. The seller of this product was already scaling in the U.S., so Leo wanted to try selling the product in Brazil. The problem was that Leo had no prior experience with dropshipping in Brazil. So, Leo reached out to his partner in Brazil and began selling this product to that market. The move would prove a success, culminating in $50k in sales in December 2020.

This success motivated him to sell the product in Canada, considering the U.S. was the primary market. Again, Leo saw encouraging results when selling to the Canadian market. Leo thought the product had already saturated the U.S. But he decided to sell the product to this market again, this time using Clickfunnels. Once more, Leo saw great results that made him excited for the future of his business as he continues using dropshipping funnels.

Leo’s Goals for the Future

Ultimately, Leo wants to implement a strategy that consists of an eCommerce business in the back-end, with another business selling products in the front-end. He wants to build the back-end business to the point where he can begin selling those products on the front end. This way, he can benefit from the security of having two businesses.

One of the biggest aspects we admire about Leo’s success is his mindset. Leo is always motivated to continue trying new things. He sticks with a strategy until it works or until he comes across a better one. We understand that many people in this industry may not have that kind of mindset as they grow discouraged.

However, Leo recommends that people continue committing to their business, learning regularly, and not giving up. There are so many opportunities out there and an unlimited number of products to try. This means your chances of success are extraordinary if you take the time to identify and commit to the right ones. In his early days, Leo celebrated the times when he simply wouldn’t lose money. Recently, he’s had more and more profitable days that are measured by bigger benchmarks.

How to Use a Sales Funnel for High-Priced Items: Our Case Study

Empire builders, today we’re diving into a powerful sales funnel for high-priced items and the niches that many of you want to get into. Selling high-ticket items will come with some challenges, but they also have absolutely phenomenal potential. I did a live demo sharing all the stats on a rock-star new funnel that we’re currently testing out. This innovative strategy has been consistently generating $1,000 of daily sales from a Facebook ad budget of just $50. How does this funnel deliver those kinds of results? It’s all about:

  • Promoting a premium product
  • Warming up your prospective customer with all the benefits of the product
  • Maximizing each conversion as much as possible

The funny thing about this exciting “new” technique is that it’s actually an old-school system. I was using it years ago in my dorm room when I was just getting started with dropshipping! It’s just as they say: history repeats itself. This awesome sales funnel for high-priced items has been working for me again. I’m going to show you how to make it work for you, too.

What It Takes To Sell High-Priced Items

Before you jump into this strategy, understand that it’s specifically for premium products that sell for $50, $60, $80, and more. Getting a sale at these higher price points will require some serious persuasion. Why should the consumer fork over their hard-earned cash? You need a really compelling answer to that question, and that’s what this strategy is about.

Most dropshippers utilize Facebook ads to drive traffic to a two-step order form, a Shopify store, or another place where the customer can order the product. But what happens when instead of doing that, you send the customer to a well-written, engaging article that showcases all the benefits of the item they’re interested in buying? You can think of it almost as a news article. But it dives into:

  • The features of the product
  • What customers are saying about the product
  • Overall what makes this product useful or desirable

Crucially, the article also has several “call to action” prompts that invite the consumer to click on a link and purchase the product from your two-step order form.

So what’s the point of all this, and why not send them directly to the order page? The idea behind this strategy is to warm up the consumer, educate them, and really create that motivation to spend their money on this product.

Again, we’re talking about higher-ticket items. You would never need this format for a “free + shipping” offer or a deeply discounted product. But for something that costs $85, the article can serve as a type of bridge that preps and primes the customer before they even get the opportunity to buy it. That’s how you get the kind of conversions you need to turn $50 of Facebook ads into $1,000 of sales.

The Magic of Two-Step Order Forms

Screen grab of Peter Pru discussing the value of articles to prime customers

In this strategy, what we do next is send that warm traffic over to a two-step order form. Now, I know that many of you are only using Shopify, or a similar platform, to run your dropshipping business. You might not be familiar with the two-step order form. It is an ecommerce sales funnel that’s designed to maximize each conversion. Trust me when I say that this tool is one of the best ways to sell products online, whether they’re physical products or digital products.

The way it works is that the first page of the order form is to collect the customer’s shipping information and email address. Having that email is a fantastic asset. We can contact them again and again with promotions, discounts, and even cart abandonment emails that will potentially save the sale. Once the customer has filled out this information, they move on to the second page and add a payment method.

Your Sales Funnel for High-Priced Items Should Have Upsells and Quantity Breaks

Screen grab of Peter Pru discussing quantity breaks for high-priced items

The consumer will now be presented with some very tempting options for spending more money with you. This is where the magic of a two-step order form happens! You can significantly bump up the value of the customer’s cart in a way that’s not quite possible on platforms like Shopify. Your first opportunity to upsell the customer will be to offer a related digital or physical product that’s in the same niche. If you present the right product, visitors are very likely to want to add it to the order.

Even better, you can also offer a quantity break discount to entice the customer to buy more than one of the item. Everybody loves a great deal, and quantity break discounts will offer them a better and better deal. My magic numbers for quantities to offer the customer are 1, 2, 4, 6, 8. Some people call me crazy, but I truly believe you can benefit from offering quantity break discounts with ANY product. Even if you think, “Well, no one’s going to want more than one of this. It just wouldn’t make sense.”

Trust me because I’ve seen it over and over again in my own businesses and in the ventures of my students. Let the numbers tell you if it’s a good idea or not. More likely than not, quantity break discounts will help you crush it with the profits you gain from each sale.

See This Method for How to Use a Sales Funnel for High-Priced Items in Action

Online shopper buying high-priced goods at home

We recently launched a new store to put this funnel to the test by selling a premium-priced product. Check out my live demo on YouTube. You can see the phenomenal results we’re getting with a Facebook ad investment of just $50.

This sales funnel for high-priced items has been consistently reaching $1,000 in daily sales, and the average cart value is an astronomical $392. Our conversion rate is relatively low, right around the 5 percent mark, but this is very typical of higher-priced products. We can also see that, for the customer who does buy, they’re signing up for an order bump 75% of the time. Wow! That’s what a motivated consumer looks like. These numbers show the game-changing potential of warming up the customers by educating them on all the product benefits.

Now, let’s go over a couple of notes about this strategy — I know some of you are definitely going to go out there and test it out. Like with everything else in dropshipping, using this sales funnel is all about making sure the numbers work. Like I said earlier, products over $50 will always have a lower conversion on the front end. You should expect that and be prepared for it. That means making up the difference by getting those warmed-up consumers to have a very high cart value.

This is exactly what you can see from our test case. The goal of this sales funnel for high-priced items is to maximize every conversion with order bumps and with quantity discounts. If you can’t strike that balance, you’re probably just going to break even. But if you can do it, you’ll be looking at a phenomenal return, like we have here.

Student Success Story: How to Use Dropshipping Funnels to Make $50k a Month

Yet another success story that highlights the value of dropshipping sales funnels and persistence is that of Jacob Jones, one of our students here at Ecommerce Empire Builders. Jacob managed to go from zero to $50,000 per month using a winning strategy. He continues to thrive in his niche, largely by knowing how to use dropshipping funnels through Clickfunnels. Here we’ll go over his story and the specific strategies he’s used over the years, which you can implement for your own dropshipping business.

Starting With a Simple Shopify Store and a Simple Idea

Around three years ago, while working as a server and in real estate, Jacob and his friend decided to give dropshipping a try. Shortly after launching his store and getting some traffic to it, Jacob began making a few sales and began to see the possibilities of ecommerce. Those few sales were enough to inspire him to keep trying. So he decided to launch a Shopify store before getting into Clickfunnels.

Jacob didn’t try to launch his business without some outside help, however. He began watching YouTube videos and other content to educate himself about dropshipping strategies that could fuel his success. After some learning and contemplation, Jacob finally decided to launch his store and focus on a specific niche with the hope that it would work in his favor. A few stores later, Jacob has seen the success that he aspired to from the start.

The first store that Jacob launched was on Shopify and focused on a highly specific niche. Today, that store is still running and succeeding. At the time of launch, Jacob was working full-time. He decided to wait to see how the store would perform before making dropshipping his focus. As he began to make sales and see the opportunities available to him, he started to grow his business. Jacob also built a relationship with a reliable supplier that’s still going strong. Eventually, after seeing a considerable amount of sales with a basic store selling baby bags, Jacob moved to Costa Rica and left his full-time job to focus solely on growing his brand.

Additionally, Jacob has recently begun using Clickfunnels. He learned how to use dropshipping funnels that move customers toward a sale more efficiently.

Making His Products Feel Like His Own

It’s important to make your products feel like your own and ensure customers associate them with your unique brand. Jacob understood this early on and continues to seek white-labeled products that he can rebrand with his own custom-designed packaging. This way, his customers receive his products and perceive him as their key provider, not merely a reseller. Subsequently, customers are more likely to visit his store again to purchase the same or similar products.

Keep in mind that when selling on an eCommerce store, people will want to purchase whatever assets belong to your business. A basic store selling AliExpress products with no rebranding can still be valuable as you collect emails and other assets. But your individual brand could also be a huge selling point. This is particularly the case if you have long-term customers who’ve come to trust your brand over others.

Setting Goals That Drive His Success

Screen grab of Jacob Jones and Peter Pru talking about how to use dropshipping funnels

Another key to Jacob’s success has been to set clear, realistic, and exciting goals that keep him continually motivated. One of his main current goals is to get into the Two Comma Club by the end of the year. He’s well on the way to achieving this goal. To attain this, he’s developing a store he launched about a month ago through Clickfunnels. So far, the new store has earned him around $95k. Another Shopify store that he started in May 2020 has already earned him around half a million within a year.

One key goal that Jacob believes will help him achieve his ultimate goal is to continue using sales funnels via Clickfunnels. He intends on implementing this in future stores.

How to Use Dropshipping Funnels by Working With a Solid Team

Jacob also understands the value of a strong team working with him to achieve his dropshipping goals. If you want to go it entirely alone, you’re going to struggle. As your store grows, tasks will become overwhelming and difficult to manage. To keep his stores running efficiently, Jacob works with a virtual assistant. He’s also quick to emphasize the importance of delegating mundane and time-consuming tasks whenever possible.

Jacob’s team is relatively small, consisting of him, a VA, and his supplier. But he intends to recruit more staff as his business continues to expand. Once you know how to use dropshipping funnels effectively, you can start to scale your business, too.

Sticking to an Effective Daily Routine

To help him stay focused on a regular basis, Jacob has developed a healthy daily routine that he follows. Now that he’s self-employed, he has ample time to dedicate to his business, which is reflected in his routine. Although you may not be at this level quite yet, you can get there eventually with the same persistence.

To start off his day, Jacob wakes up anywhere between 8 and 8:30 AM. He then begins writing down his daily tasks to establish a clear roadmap from dawn to dusk. As the day progresses, he checks off these items to keep him in line. This strategy gives him specific plans for every day, making sure he stays busy and productive.

Managing a Dependable Network of Ads

Screen grab of Jacob Jones and Peter Pru talking about dropshipping

Jacob also relies on several channels for his ads as part of his strategy for how to use dropshipping funnels. In addition to Facebook, which attracts around 90% of his total traffic, he runs ads through Snapchat, Google Ads, and TikTok. While he’s currently struggling with a Facebook ad campaign for his Clickfunnels store due to his specific niche, he’s working to mitigate this and get the most from this platform.

We believe that it’s perfectly fine to target multiple channels for ads as long as your target audience uses those platforms. But this isn’t necessary, either. We’ve found that many successful dropshipping businesses are able to pull in most of their customer base from a single source, such as Facebook or YouTube. If you can find that one specific channel that yields the best results, we definitely recommend sticking with it. The fewer platforms you use for ads, the easier your campaigns will be to manage.

Harnessing the Power of Email Lists

As he works to monetize non-buyers for his business, Jacob is proud of his email lists, which he sees as his main assets. It took him some time to begin building email lists, but he eventually took the time to get them up and running to his benefit. In the process, he’s been able to more easily stay in front of customers’ faces and connect with prospects and existing customers alike.

We perceive email lists as particularly valuable because of their ability to influence people’s buying decisions more effectively than other marketing efforts. You can:

  • Show your recipients videos of influencers using your products.
  • Send enticing offers.
  • Showcase your brand in other ways to keep your audience aware of you.

Consistency Is a Key Part of How to Use Dropshipping Funnels

Dropshipper learning more about how to run an ecommerce business

When asked what Jacob recommends most to others looking to get into this business, he stated that persistence and consistency were vital. Jacob is able to devote most of his time to his endeavors now that he’s self-employed. But even if you’re still working a full-time job, you can gain the freedom he has by sticking to a strategy that works. Don’t be deterred by slow periods, and keep at it until you begin to grow your business. Over time, you’ll be able to overcome the various challenges you’re likely to face and then experience the kind of success that Jacob continues to enjoy.

Like most success stories, Jacob’s is one of hard work and resilience that helped him get ahead. What helps him to grow further and move forward is the fact that he still doesn’t see his story as one of success quite yet. He’s always aiming toward a new goal to land him on the next plateau.

You, too, can build a winning dropshipping business by using sales funnels, high-quality and rebranded products, comprehensive ad campaigns, and a generally consistent strategy. How to Make Money With ClickFunnels and Shopify in 2021

At Ecommerce Empire Builders, we’ve developed a series called Roasts and Ranks. Here, we rank ecommerce businesses from one to ten based on a number of factors. Watching can help you learn more about how to make money with ClickFunnels by learning from others’ mistakes and strategic wins. When ranking, we’ll look at four key factors, including:

  • First impressions
  • The niche
  • The funnel
  • The offer

Do you want to get involved and submit your online store for us to check out and review? Then you can submit your store to us online, and we may feature you in a future episode.

In this edition of Roasts and Ranks, we’re looking at a business called Fitnetic Nation. We wanted to see what they’re doing right and what could benefit from some improvement. In the process, we’ll go over how to make money with ClickFunnels and Shopify.

First Impressions: An Impressive Use of Sales Funnels But Weak Design and a Broad Niche

From the moment we visited the Fitnetic Nation website, we were impressed with the fact that they used a sales funnel through ClickFunnels. Usually, the stores we review consist solely of a Shopify store without any use of funnels. But the people behind Fitnetic Nation seem to have a good grasp of a sales funnel’s importance. Instead of simply building a Shopify store, Fitnetic Nation uses a system to bring people up the sales ladder and optimize their maximum cart value.

What was unique about Fitnetic Nation was that they had both a main website at fitneticnation.org and another ClickFunnels site, fitneticnation.com. Looking at their .org domain, we weren’t immediately wowed by the homepage. For a business in the fitness niche, we felt that the website was fairly generic and uninteresting. The banner image was somewhat blurry. We also noticed that the font in the banner logo was different from that in the logo below. We would’ve liked to see some consistency.

Problems With the Theme

Generally, we thought the theme on the .org domain was unimpressive. Even a basic WordPress or ClickFunnels theme could offer some more uniqueness and flair. The biggest issue with this is that a niche like fitness demands a lot of energy and liveliness to inspire prospective customers. But the website simply lacked that kind of energy. Due to the lack of clarity when it came to the niche on the homepage, we couldn’t give it many points.

For instance, the homepage on the .org domain states that Fitnetic Nation provides various products for “anyone looking to get in shape and move to the next level in their fitness journey,” but that’s too broad. We felt that they could have dug deeper here. They should have chosen a specific sub-niche, such as stay-at-home moms or busy professionals. It’s important to speak to a specific audience to establish a better connection, which Fitnetic Nation didn’t do.

As a side note, we don’t recommend getting into the fitness niche unless you’re willing to work hard and devote a lot of time to it. It’s one of the most competitive and influencer-driven niches. Unless you’re able to post on Instagram, YouTube, or other platforms on a daily basis, the chances of succeeding in this niche are normally very slim. A key part of knowing how to make money with ClickFunnels is knowing what niche (and sub-niche) to focus on.

The Store: Bare-Bones Product Pages Don’t Entice Buyers With a Clear Offer

Screen grab of Peter Pru analyzing Fitnetic Nation's product offer

Looking at the products on Fitnetic Nation’s .org domain, we didn’t love the design of the product pages. The biggest problem was the absence of any kind of engaging offer. The price for the Dimok Sport Weighted Vest showed a sale lowering it from around $60 to $45.97. But there wasn’t anything attention-grabbing about the rest of the page. Also, the site didn’t prominently display the price. Even if people see the price drop, they may just head over to Amazon. They might find the product for even less there.

Whenever you sell a product through your business, you have to ask why anyone would buy your products. What is it that differentiates your brand from the many others out there? If you can provide a compelling answer to this question when launching your store, you’re that much closer to developing an exciting offer that drives sales.

An Unexpected Feature: The Music Tab

One unusual item that we noticed on the .org website was a tab in the main navigation labeled Music. When we opened that page, we unexpectedly found a single listenable track that we were able to load into iTunes. It essentially appeared to be a workout track that people could check out, which we thought was kind of cool.

In fact, we believe that could have been a great way for this brand to stand out. They can include a playlist of songs that inspire people to work out. What would make this a particularly effective selling point would be to include it for free with the purchase of other products. We let this count toward some points for Fitnetic Nation. But we think this would work better as a bundled product.

A Simple Mission Page That Needs Some Work

While it’s a good idea to include an “Our Mission” page, we found Fitnetic Nation’s to be empty and devoid of personality. The mission statement at the top of the page was simple and synonymous with many other fitness companies’ mission statements. And while the page mentions the company’s devotion to top-quality products and craftsmanship, there were no pictures or other accompanying text to establish the differentiating factor.

The Importance of Standing Out

Screen grab of Peter Pru analyzing Fitnetic Nation's website

Overall, the most glaring issue we had with Fitnetic Nation’s .org and .com websites was the distinct lack of any kind of attempt to stand apart. With so many competitors in the fitness niche, showing what makes your products different is a key part of how to make money with ClickFunnels and Shopify. The few product images on the website were simple stock images that didn’t truly show products in action. Also, there were no customer testimonials to vouch for the site’s claims of providing products of exceptional quality.

Looking back at their .com ClickFunnels site, we did notice that Fitnetic Nation had included an offer at the top of the main page. The offer was strong (featuring two free PDFs that would come with an “exclusive bundle”). But it was below a banner image with a logo. To be more effective, the offer would benefit from being placed above the logo. Ultimately, the logo doesn’t even need to be in there, as businesses need to build themselves around logos. A logo doesn’t mean anything if the brand doesn’t have a reputation that people associate with that logo.

Our Final Score: 4.1

Based on what Fitnetic Nation is doing with their site at the time of this review, we feel that a 4.1 is a fair rating for this store. Right off the bat, we liked the use of funnels. There was also the start of some good ideas, such as the mission statement and the music section. But there needs to be a lot more. There are plenty of winning starting ideas here, but they could benefit from some expansion.

While there’s an offer on the ClickFunnels site, it’s hurt by a logo that’s entirely unnecessary. It’s also important to highlight the true value of that offer. For those free PDFs, for example, Fitnetic Nation could list the prices that they would normally cost. Additionally, there needs to be a specific niche and target audience within the fitness niche. Selling to parents, professionals, or young aspiring athletes could lend a sense of identity to this brand and speak to a particular group. The overall design of the website could also benefit from a clearer identity and engaging visual themes.

Fitnetic Nation is off to a great start on how to make money with ClickFunnels. But there are many ways to improve this business and transform it into a seven-figure earner.

How Sina Went From $0 to $50k/Month Using My ClickFunnels Dropshipping Course

Welcome back, Empire Builders! Today I’m going to go over the highlights of a recent interview I did with $50k Club student Sina Sinry and paraphrase our conversation for you. Here’s some of the wisdom he had to share with you guys about his approach, rise to success, and experience with my Clickfunnels dropshipping course. Let’s jump right in.

How and When Did You Get Started in Ecommerce?

Sina:

I started near the beginning of COVID-19 around May 2020. Shopify seemed interesting, but I didn’t know how to go about selling. I began with digital products as a fun hobby, and I was so excited when my first product sold for $9. (The same product now sells for $250.) Like many of the comments I see in the group, my focus was on finding that special, unique product that no one else was selling.

As time went on, though, I realized I was overthinking it. I just had to find something I could sell that I had an interest in or could market well. When I posted my profits, everyone wanted to know the secret. I told them I just took the class and followed it step by step. Find something that’s selling well and do a good job of marketing it. It’s that simple.

How Did You Go About Starting Your Current Business? What Was Your Inspiration and Process for Growth?

Screen grab of Peter Pru and Sina Sinry talking about niches

Sina:

A friend of mine actually suggested it. My friend, now partner, saw a product selling well and suggested we sell it. So, we did. I started watching free videos online and learning more. Then I took Ecommerce Empire Builder’s Clickfunnels dropshipping course, and I started really understanding how it works.

Until then, I would message other group members for advice on specific things and watch videos to find answers. I feel like you don’t have to wait until you fully understand the whole process. You can just jump in, get started, and learn as you go. You can’t wait for the perfect product and perfect time because that will never happen. It doesn’t exist. You learn more by doing and seeing it first-hand.

What Were Some Hurdles You’ve Overcome Along the Way?

Dropshipper taking a course to learn new skills

Sina:

Well, selling digital products is great because you buy the content, make it into a product once, and sell it dozens of times. There’s a big profit margin. Also, at first, I was solely focused on using Facebook ads, but there were issues and limits to what I could make. I realized I had to branch out to other social media platforms.

When it comes to ads, I found a lot of success using the Ecommerce Empire Builder strategy. I don’t use a long introduction or talk about my brand a lot. I go straight to what people care about. They want to know what the product does and how to get it. That really worked for me.

Another issue I had was being caught up on what other people sell. I saw one of the Ecommerce Empire Builder interviews, and I thought I had to find out what that guy sells and sell the same thing. That doesn’t work, though. I had to find what I could sell well and have success with. What worked for him wouldn’t be the same as what worked for me.

Another issue I had was payment portals. I couldn’t get my system to work with anything but PayPal. I didn’t let that be an excuse, though. Just with PayPal, I still made $50k a month. I just had to go through the Clickfunnels dropshipping course and follow the steps. I had to watch them a few times to understand how to make it work with digital projects. Actually, I think I watched through the Clickfunnels dropshipping course five times before I understood how to make it work for me. But I didn’t give up. I kept working at it, and now I’m successful.

What Is Your Marketing Strategy? Do You Have an Organic Strategy?

Sina:

I do a lot on Instagram. There’s a large audience there. One mistake I see a lot is people solely focusing on their product and making their Instagram all about what they sell. People get bored with that quickly, though. What I do is try to make my content funny and interesting — instead of just about the product — so people want to follow me. It’s all related to my niche, but I include memes and posts that people can engage with and enjoy. I use the same general strategy on YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.

Peter

I agree completely. We’ve had a lot of success with Instagram Reels and repurposing our TikTok content. You touched on a great point, though. If you don’t provide value, people won’t want to follow accounts just pushing products. It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in; providing content with value will make people stick around.

What Are Your Business Goals Moving Forward?

Screen grab of Peter Pru and Sina Sinry talking

Sina:

I’m branching out with more sites. I just started my second site and already have $12K gross sales. I’m in the same niche but selling a different product. At every stage, no matter what I’m doing, keeping the customer happy always leads to better results. So, moving forward, customer satisfaction is going to be a big focus, too.

I used to hear Ecommerce Empire Builders talk about the importance of email marketing and think, “No one even opens emails, so why bother?” Then I started using it, and it’s been working well. That will be part of my strategy moving forward as well.

Okay, Empire Builders, that’s all I’ve got for you today. Joining Ecommerce Empire Builders: How One Dropshipper Went From $0 to $10,000

In this review, we’re going to breakdown the success that Will Jackson experienced with his dropshipping business after joining Ecommerce Empire Builders. As one of our $10k Club members, he managed to skyrocket from zero to $10,000 with the help of Clickfunnels and an overall winning strategy. Here we’ll review Will’s experience, goals, and the ways in which he intends to further scale his business.

Jumping Straight Into Sales Funnels and Finding a Niche

Will’s dropshipping journey began around three years ago. He quit his job and decided to start his own online business, with minimal experience in marketing. Unlike many who start out in this arena, Will looked into sales funnels instead of setting up a Shopify store or using another eCommerce platform. In the process of determining what he should sell, Will discovered dropshipping and connected with a local dropshipper. Based on what he saw that dropshipper doing, Will started his first attempt at dropshipping.

Early on, Will began by posting his products on Facebook and hoping that he would generate sales in this way. But he understood that he needed to do more. His biggest issue was directing his focus on one area. He tried out a new idea every week to determine what worked and what didn’t, hooked on the rush of searching for that next big opportunity. However, he found that this strategy wasn’t getting the results he’d hoped for. So Will took a new approach that entailed signing up for a course during his off time at a new job.

Seeing Growth Through Graphic Design

Screengrab of Peter Pru and WIll Jackson discussing his first graphic design sale

Will wound up building a sales funnel in the niche he’s currently in. But he decided he had to focus on the effort full-time. After quitting his second job, he tried his hand at other jobs like coaching until a friend making seven figures through dropshipping requested Will’s help in building a Shopify store. From there, Will mapped out his next plan to build his own Shopify store. He was able to set it up with several products he’d gathered during his other work, including designs from his job in print-on-demand services.

Eventually, Will made his first sale with an ad for a PNG file he’d simply had saved on his computer. He realized that he had landed on a truly lucrative opportunity. Then his biggest success — which landed him in our $10k Club — came when he sold a Christmas design that he had made. This design quickly went from making nothing to pulling in upwards of $3,000 per day.

To help fuel his success, Will eventually stuck to a specific niche that he’s still in, catering to a specific audience. See how joining Ecommerce Empire Builders can help you find your own niche.

How Will Gets His Ideas for Design Products

As Will’s business developed, he began getting additional ideas from a website called Sorting Social. This tool sorts the most-pinned posts from Pinterest about nearly any topic imaginable. For instance, if you search for “dog T-shirts” on Sorting Social, you’ll be able to see a list of the most popular designs. From there, Will outsources his graphic design services to another graphic designer. The designer reengineers the top-ranking designs to be unique and sellable. For additional ideas, Will also uses eRank, which ranks the top-selling items on Etsy.

It’s worth emphasizing that while Will gets ideas from other existing designs, he sells original designs. Redesigning them to be his own is key to avoiding plagiarism accusations and potential legal issues.

Maximizing the Average Cart Value With Successful Upsells

To further fuel his dropshipping success, Will also includes a variety of upsells. These increase the average value of his carts. His upsell sequence works like this:

  1.  He begins with an order bump for mugs that feature the same design as the original purchase
  2. These offers are followed by hoodies and similar items based on the original design.

He now uses Clickfunnels to help put these funnels together. In addition, he uses Funnelish for Clickfunnels. Although he has yet to see how recently implemented upsells will increase his maximum cart value, he currently sells the initial designs for around $50.

Eyeing His First Million

After joining Ecommerce Empire Builders and experiencing an impressive level of success with his current setup, Will’s end game is to make his first million in sales by the end of the year. To drive that success, he’s already created his “vision board” to help him reach that goal. He also created a “Two Comma Club” mock award that could very well see an authentic replacement in a year’s time. Will also aspires to be Number 1 in his niche. He plans on accomplishing this by focusing more on quality than his top competitor and reaping those returns with a worthwhile investment.

To back his business and make those goals attainable, Will has a team behind him that he intends to grow. To start with, he currently has two designers, and he’s currently seeking a virtual assistant. His primary traffic also comes from Facebook Ads campaigns. But he plans to get involved in influencer marketing, which is huge in his print-on-demand niche.

Will’s Advice for Succeeding in Your Niche

Screengrab of Peter Pru and WIll Jackson talking

Based on his experience in dropshipping, Will recommends that people start with lots of research. He recommends these steps:

  1. Find out what others are doing in your ideal niche.
  2. Track their success.
  3. Determine how you can differentiate yourself from the competition, whether through improved product quality or an improved sales funnel.

Additionally, Will recommends sticking to it and not giving up when things appear rough, as things are likely to smooth out as you learn and grow. As much as you might want everything to be perfect from the start, it’s best to start putting yourself out there and gradually improving over time. If you spend too much time perfecting your funnel, ads, and other content, you’ll only be losing out on opportunities to start selling.

Finally, Will also suggests that you adhere to your Daily Six, or a daily routine that involves self-care. Joining Ecommerce Empire Builders and structuring your day for success will boost your productivity. Your business may be important to you. But it won’t succeed unless the person running it (i.e., you) is in the right frame of mind. Whether your morning routine consists of jogging, meditating, reading, or another refreshing hobby, taking time for yourself first is crucial for clearing your mind. It can also drive your continued success.

How to Make Money Online in 2021 With This Free Clickfunnels Template

Regardless of what you’re selling online, sales funnels are the key to a successful ecommerce business. However, many entrepreneurs just starting out aren’t sure how to set up their funnels, or they’re wary about trying them. The fact is that, without a proper sales funnel in place, you’re going to struggle. To help you get started, we’ll go over how to stage your business for success with our free Clickfunnels template. You can download this sales funnel today and make it your own.

Start With the Squeeze Page

When you’re running any kind of online store, there are many aspects to think about as you get started. The advantage of a sales funnel is that it redirects your focus to the person you’re selling to instead of the storefront itself. As you first get into sales funnels, you’ll want to begin with the squeeze page. This is a landing page or opt-in page that hooks people into the sales funnel.

What Squeeze Pages Do

In short, the squeeze page is the page that you send your customers to when they’re about to order your products. In our free Clickfunnels template, our squeeze page sells a “Shooting Trainer” that basketball players can use to work on their shooting skills. You might bring people to your squeeze page from Facebook ads, Instagram ads, or other sources. The page will highlight a single product instead of a bunch of them. This helps ensure you connect with a specific audience. As a result, if someone isn’t interested in this particular product, they’ll be likely to click away. But active shoppers stay on the page.

How to Set Up an Effective Squeeze Page

Screen grab of Peter Pru discussing a squeeze page in a free Clickfunnels template

Ultimately, you’ll want your squeeze page to get people to become leads during the first step. This means entering shipping information such as their name, address, phone number, and email address. After submitting their information, people will be in your database, allowing you to contact them later.

Once they’ve opted in during Step 1, they’ll enter Step 2, which will allow them to select a specific product and enter billing info to complete their order. For example, in our free Clickfunnels template, people can choose to buy one or two basketball trainers through our offer. You can use Step 2 to list quantity breaks and discounts; highlight appealing offers to further drive sales for greater quantities of products.

Additionally, we have a one-time offer of an ebook download below the billing info. It’s a “Basketball Mastery Guide,” which makes it easy for customers to add this to their order. This is essentially free money for us: the ebook cost us no more than $10 once, and we can repeatedly sell it for $15 to multiple customers through this order bump.

Remember the Real Purpose of a Sales Funnel

As you develop your squeeze page, keep in mind that the main purpose of a sales funnel is to generate assets for your business. This primarily consists of emails and phone numbers that enable you to promote new products and other offers. Secondly, you’ll want to use your funnels to maximize the average cart value by getting people to spend as much as possible on initial sales. This is huge for helping keep up with the costs of maintaining your business. Finally, your funnel should also maximize the overall lifetime value (LTV) through repeat sales, which generate consistent, predictable revenue.

Take Customers to an Upsell Page

Once customers have completed their order on the squeeze page, it’s time to lead them to your first upsell page. Don’t feel limited to one or two upsells, either. You can lead people to as many upsells as you want, all of which are one-click opportunities that make it easy to add more items to their order instantly. While people can choose not to add these items, many people are likely to be interested in purchasing additional products if they’re relevant to their initial order.

With more upsells comes a bigger increase in the average cart value. This can lead to increased revenue that you can then use to improve your ad campaigns. This will give you even more of a competitive edge. It’s important to remember the adage: “He who can spend the most to acquire customers wins.” With ample upsells and a maximized average cart value, you’ll be able to afford more ads that flush out the competition.

In our free Clickfunnels template, we’ve included two upsell pages: one for a “Limited Edition Shooting Strap” that corrects posture, and one for a pair of “Pro Skill Trainer Gloves” that allow for a better grip. Both of these go toward boosting the value of the average cart when people buy our Shooting Trainer through the squeeze page.

Offer a Form of Continuity to Maximize LTV

Ecommerce business owner creating a sales funnel

As we mentioned, the main goal of a sales funnel is to generate assets in the form of leads. All cold traffic should go through a sales funnel regardless of what you’re selling, with focus areas on specific products that attract equally specific audiences. First, you can maximize the average cart value through initial sales and upsells. Then you can conclude with continuity that maximizes the lifetime value of your customers. Once you’ve made that initial sale, you need to keep customers coming back to you with some type of continuity.

Continuity could include subscription boxes, digital memberships, and other offers that help generate income on a yearly or monthly basis. In our free Clickfunnels template, we create continuity in the form of a one-click upsell. People can pay $14.97 a month for weekly industry secrets that can improve their basketball training. That adds up to impressive compound interest that keeps the money coming in.

Subscription boxes are always a great option here if you’re offering physical products. You can work with a supplier like AliExpress to put together your boxes and ship them to customers.

Regardless of the subscription you implement, a focus on continuity is vital for generating consistent revenue and enabling your business to grow without the need to spend more on ads.

Complete the Funnel With a Thank You Page

After taking people through your squeeze pages, upsells, and continuity offers, you can complete the interaction with a “thank you” page. But this page can include more than an order confirmation and a message thanking customers. It can also include additional affiliate offers or links to Shopify stores, further boosting sales.

Get the Results You Want With a Reliable Sales Funnel

Screen grab of Peter Pru giving an overview of the essential components of a sales funnel

We encourage you to try this free Clickfunnels template with your bestselling products and see how well they perform. With a complete sales funnel that includes a squeeze page, multiple upsells, and continuity, you can see a significant increase in:

  • Conversions
  • Initial sales
  • Long-term customer relationships

Subsequently, you’ll have more money to spend on supercharging your marketing. You can stay ahead of competitors in an increasingly saturated market.

Should You Invest in Zipify or Clickfunnels?

Empire builders, you’re looking to build your wealth through online sales. As you progress through this journey, there are a lot of learning curves you must work through. One typical learning curve is trying to find the best platform to make online sales. A recent ecommerce newbie asked me how I would choose to use either Zipify or Clickfunnels. Below I outline the pros and cons of both of these excellent ecommerce software programs. Read on to get the full scope on both the Clickfunnels and the Zipify software.

What Is Zipify?

Screen grab of a diagram of how Zipify works

Before we delve into the pros and cons of these two ecommerce software programs, we need to understand what they are and how they function. Zipify is an application that Shopify stores can use to create one-click upsells after a customer has purchased a product. Essentially, traffic is sent to a Shopify product page. After a customer reaches the checkout and puts in their billing information, the Zipify application allows for the creation of a one-click upsell. The best app for Shopify stores to invest in for one-click upsells is definitely Zipify.

For those of you with Shopify stores, the Zipify application is an easy way to maximize the amount a customer spends with you when they come to your store. Ultimately, this application helps to increase the average cart value in Shopify stores by offering easy one-click upsells to customers after they have already provided their credit card information. So, you might be wondering why anyone would use Clickfunnels if they could just add the Zipify application to their existing Shopify store.

Zipify is a great application to add to any Shopify store. But it lacks some of the top features that Clickfunnels can provide to all ecommerce entrepreneurs.

What Is Clickfunnels?

Screen grab of a diagram of how Clickfunnels works

Clickfunnels is an ecommerce software that looks very similar to the average Shopify store. However, the simple formula behind the sales funnels in Clickfunnels yields much better results compared to the average Shopify store. When using Clickfunnels, traffic is sent to a landing page or opt-in page. The purpose of this opt-in page is to collect the email of your customer before they make a purchase or leave the store. This email is an asset to your business as it allows you to send retargeting or promotion emails later on. After the email is collected in Clickfunnels, the customer then moves on to the checkout page. The checkout pages in Clickfunnels are a real game-changer for ecommerce entrepreneurs.

The checkout hacks offered on Clickfunnels just can’t be found anywhere else. Order bumps and quantity break discounts are just some of the features that can be used with this software. Using these types of checkout hacks is a great way to increase the average cart value in any funnel.

When comparing the Zipify and Clickfunnels upsells features, they are very similar overall. However, the one element that Clickfunnels offers and Zipify simply doesn’t is the one-click recurring revenue upsell. This one-click recurring upsell bills the customer on a monthly basis, usually for a subscription box similar to BarkBox or Dollar Shave Club. This feature really sets Clickfunnels apart from Zipify and all other competitors.

The Zipify vs. Clickfunnels Debate

So now that we know what the two software programs offer, what is the end consensus about choosing Zipify or Clickfunnels? Well, for the ecommerce newcomer, my suggestion would be to simply go with Clickfunnels. However, if you already have an established Shopify store, I would definitely invest in adding the Zipify application. It allows you to easily increase your average cart value for your store. If you have a Shopify store, I would invest in Clickfunnels, too, along with adding Zipify.

My recommendation for Shopify store owners would be to run all of your cold traffic to a Clickfunnels page in order to get that first sale. Through this process, you can collect emails from potential customers. This will allow you to build your email list and retarget these customers and send them offers to your Shopify store.

Again, if you are just starting out in the ecommerce industry, I would simply purchase Clickfunnels and forget about Shopify and Zipify. Clickfunnels gives you access to all of their services and features for a monthly price of $97. Getting both a Shopify store and the Zipify application can end up costing you an arm and a leg when it’s all said and done. Zipify charges $50 a month and takes 2-3% of the sales that it make you. On top of this, the average conversion rate on a Shopify store is much lower than the average funnel built through Clickfunnels.

Final Thoughts: Zipify or Clickfunnels?

At the end of the day, either Zipify or Clickfunnels would be great software for anyone in the ecommerce industry. However, before you invest in either, make sure to do your research. Determine which software program will better suit your current situation and your long-term goals. For the average individual, I would invest in Zipify if I already had a Shopify store. However, if you’re just starting out, opt for Clickfunnels. It will provide you with everything you need to start building your ecommerce empire today.

Consult With the Pros

The Problem With Shopify Dropshipping: What You Need to Know

Welcome back, Empire Builders! If you’re thinking about getting started with Shopify dropshipping or you’re currently a Shopify dropshipper and aren’t getting the results you expected, keep reading. We’ll be going over the problem with Shopify dropshipping and why it’s difficult to be profitable on that platform. Then, we’ll discuss alternatives that can help you start making money right away.

Over the past few months, we’ve been creating a ton of dropshipping businesses and split-testing different approaches. Now that the results are in, we want to share what we’ve learned about starting your dropshipping business more profitably.

The Typical Problem With Shopify Dropshipping “Funnels”

The typical Shopify dropshipping “funnel” is where you’ll find the problem with Shopify dropshipping that stops so many sellers from making money. The word “funnel” is in quotes here because while it’s technically correct, it’s a very poor example of what a funnel should be. Let me show you what I mean.

This is what your typical Shopify dropshipping “funnel” looks like:

Ad→ Product Page→ Add to Cart→ Cart Page→ Checkout Page #1: Shipping Info→ Checkout Page #2: Billing Info→ Complete Purchase/Thank You Page

Each of those arrows is a step that customers must complete to make the purchase. They’re also opportunities for the customer to drop off and not come back to finish the transaction. That’s the most costly problem with Shopify dropshipping. Consider how many ads people see each day, how seldom they click them, and that, as humans, we have the attention span of goldfish. When we finally do get that click, we need to get to the money as quickly as possible before life gets in the way and customers don’t come back. The “funnel” shown above does not work!

Many will argue that influencers or popular companies make millions that way. You’re right — your competitors who have warm leads and dedicated followings are making money off their popularity, But that’s despite the flaws in their methods. You don’t have that luxury, and you have to compete with them. So that’s even more reason to optimize your funnel!

What Does a Good Sales Funnel Look Like?

We use ClickFunnels to build our sales funnels, but you can use different software if you like. We use ClickFunnels because they have all the tools we need to make our funnels as profitable as possible and have it up and running within the day.

Let’s compare ClickFunnels to Shopify. We’re going to say that the ad and the customers who click on it are identical. The funnel is the only thing that’s changed. Here’s the new funnel, done the right way:

Ad→ 2-Step Order Form→ Upsell→ Upsell→ Complete Purchase/Thank You Page

As you can see, the structure has a two-step order form right at the beginning. We get their name, email, billing, and shipping information right up front. That allows us to build our email list and follow up — whether they purchased or not. It also shows them our products and quantity break discounts, so they can choose what they want and how many they want. Then the rest of the steps are one-click upsells, usually including a subscription.

Real-Life Example of a Poorly Optimized Funnel

I saw an ad for a pet product and clicked it to see how many clicks it would take to complete a purchase. Here’s what I had to do:

Ad→ Add to Cart→ Checkout→ Continue to Shipping Info→ Continue to Payment→ Complete Purchase

It took six clicks! That’s three times as many as it should be! That gives customers more time to change their minds, get distracted, get frustrated, or any number of other possibilities.

Real-Life Example of a Well Optimized Funnel

Instead, you want to set it up so that when leads click on an ad, it sends them to a sales page that highlights one offer with features, benefits, and images. Right next to the offer on that same page is where the two-step order form should be. With this design, you get their information right away, and they turn into a lead on your email list. On most sites, menus and options are great. But for an ad landing page, you don’t want to give them a ton of places to click off and get distracted. It should be simple and to the point.

Most people – around 90% – won’t buy the first time they end up on your site. They’ll want more information and to get to know you better first. When you get the contact information quickly, you have what you need to make that happen. Growing your email list and using email marketing is like printing money. You already have the names. All you have to do is reach out to them.

Good Sales Funnels Solve the Problem With Shopify Dropshipping

The value of this funnel is in ensuring that more qualified leads make it to your order form. If they put in their billing and shipping information, they’re more likely to buy. That’s why these funnels convert about 10%, while the Shopify ones only convert 1.33%. That’s nearly ten times more by merely changing your funnel.

On the second page of the order form, they can select their product. I always provide multiple quantity break discounts to encourage them to buy for a better deal. Then I have what’s called an order bump. That’s the pre-purchase upsell, much like the candy aisle at grocery store checkouts. You see it, and it’s convenient and tempting, so you just toss it in while you’re already there.

Make sure your order bump is a no-brainer item that pairs with your original offer. This will increase your average order value (AOV). Then the next clicks take you to one-click upsells before completing the order. I like having a subscription upsell in there to let them sign up for monthly orders. With this option, you can get consistent sales every month without additional work.

Final Thoughts About the Problem With Shopify Dropshipping

Dropshipper building a more convenient sales funnel

I see many people mistakenly assuming that if they aren’t making big profits, the product must be bad. Usually, the product itself is fine. It’s the sales strategy that needs work. Another mistake I see is a focus on lowering their cost-per-purchase. Ad spend isn’t going down — it’s just not. Constantly trying to reduce it creates inconsistencies that cost you more money.

Instead, flip the issue. While your competition tries to lower costs, focus on increasing your AOV instead so you can afford better ads to bring in more leads and still make higher profits. If you use optimized funnels with the right upsells and subscriptions paired with list-building and simple automated email marketing, you can succeed. It’s not unusual to see an average cart value of over $30-$40 on a FREE+Shipping offer with the right funnel and upsells.
